Will Arianne be able to seduce and control (f)Aegon?

Recommended Posts

I ask this because, to me, the amount of influence she can have over the boy conqueror is relative to his own sexual experience. Arys Oakheart was a virgin prior to meeting Arianne, and by seducing him and screwing him on multiple occasions, I'm sure Arys thought of her as a gift from the gods. Any other virgin in this scenario would likely agree with that.

However, a man who has had previous sexual experience and also currently has multiple women available to him might not be so entranced by sleeping with Arianne, unless Martin has yet to reveal that she gives the best sex ever.

Arianne seduced Arys and was able to use him to try and crown Myrcella. In the gift chapter from WoW, Arianne asks about Jon Connington's love life and is disheartened that he seems to never have had a lover, and she wonders if she can go head-to-head with him using just her words/mind rather than her body.

It is popular belief that Arianne is going to end up marrying (f)Aegon, thus finally getting Dorne actively involved in the war for the Iron Throne. But how much influence will she have on the young king? I do not believe 16-year-old Aegon is a virgin. When Tyrion is briefly living with Illyrio, the cheesemonger remarks that he bought the blonde serving girl to "please the king." And also mentions something like "the king enjoyed her greatly." I find it odd that that word choice is never questioned by Tyrion, because there are no kings in the Free Cities (the ruler of Pentos is called a Prince) and it seems highly unlikely that Robert Baratheon was ever a guest in Illyrio's home.

It makes sense that (f)Aegon is not a virgin because of all the care put into concealing and raising him by Varys and Illyrio; if this boy is to be the next king of Westeros, then they needed to be sure that he's capable of producing heirs. And since (f)Aegon isn't new to sex, will Arianne be able to control him with her body, or will she just be another woman to him?

God, I hope not. The whole "powerful man gets led around by his lower horn" plotline has been used... somewhat often in the past, Denys and the Lace Serpent, Tyrion and Shae, Arianne and Arys, Cersei and... many people, and those are just the ones I can remember.

I love Arianne, but it would be neat if she had to rely on what she has between her ears for once. For one, it'll help show that she has grown and become a more powerful player than the silly fairy-tale princess that got her friends killed and imprisoned at the end of AFFC.

If I remember correctly I think he was referring to the beggar king.

I am not sure about that..

AFFC, page 271/272: "It had been ten years since... I never touched a woman until you, not since I took the white. I never knew what love could be, yet now... I am afraid" [Arys Oakheart]

I believe he had sex prior falling in love with Arianne, otherwise that piece of sentence doesn't make much sense to me.

Arianne later in that same chapter says something about Arys seemed very inexperienced.

Oh, well, even earlier in the chapter it is hinted that Arys learned from Arianne a lot.. it ain't the first woman he falls in love for naught.

I believe he might have had some dry sex with some other inexperienced common girl or whore, he didn't like it, didn't think there was more to be discovered (i.e. Arianne's tricks) and thus it was easier for him to route for the White Cloak.

seriously is there 1 thread where some one doesn't identify the kid as faegon?

well i'm not sure she seems to be changing now and wants to be taken seriously. Will trying to seduce aegon help her no idea since she already has what she wants in being heir to dorne. It's aegon that really needs to seduce her to side with him.

I have different questions. Will he accept Arianne? Will she find any reason to doubt his authenticity? Will they first make rumpty dumpty, and if so will she be satisfied? Will he lose his warlike fervor if he has an affair/marriage with the experienced Arianne? Will she be in a tug-of-war with Jon Connington? What will she and Doran do if after the marriage it becomes public that he's a fake (assuming he is)?

I hope not. I've been thinking about a AriannexTyrion pairing for a long time and here is why:

1. They are players, if you know what I mean :cool4:

2. They hate Tywin

3. They hate Joffery

4. They don't like Cersei

5. Their father's disregard them for far too long

6. They have brothers who people respect more

7. They are friendly with their extended family, but not the immediate one

8. The dislike the Clegane family: Tyrion- the Hound, Arianne- the Mountain

9. They are good, but not that good

10. Badass

And there's probably one big defining reason Arianne won't wanna be with Tyrion - she likes handsome and good looking men, and we all know that Tyrion isn't exactly a looker.

I don't think he's a virgin. He's probably visited a few whores with Duck. Jon C wouldn't know because he isnt interested in women. Also I always thought the King Illyrio was talking about was Viserys.

As to Arianne I think she will be able to seduce him. Its hard to say no to a pretty and powerful womancoming on to you. It doesn't mean she will control him though. I think that she thinks she is a much better player then she is. I think Aegons downfall will be he can't be controlled. Jon C is already having problems. There is also the danger of Arianne acting like she is all about Aegon when she really just wants to use him. Kings don't want to be used. See Robert/Cersie.

Have to agree with Lord Vitiate & I3oI3o(Sorry if that's spelled wrong), the king being referenced is Viserys, which is why Tyrion never questions it. As for Arianne, I think it is all up to whether or not Doran wants her to, I mean she now knows just what her father's plans were, that she nearly ruined, so if he sees that Aegon has a good chance of taking the throne then she will most likely try to win him over, and if that fails seduction may be the next logical course of action(in her mind at least). Personally I think Doran would be the one to determine Aegon's validity because he would be able to see any resemblance to Elia, as well as Rhaegar, maybe that's why George sent Arianne, to keep us guessing for a bit longer. :)
