I don't know if anyone else is a WWE fan, but I am and this has me stoked. I've been longing for access to the massive catalog that WWE has, and we're finally getting it. Now I can go catch up on all the WCW matches I missed out on as a kid as well as the older eras of wrestling. I'm pretty stoked.

One program I'm interested in is "the Monday night wars." It will chronicle the real life rivalries that lead to the on air conflict between WWE and WCW during the 90's and early 2000's.

I watched a documentary on the Monday Night Wars a few years ago... I think it is on youtube somewhere.

What do you figure you'll watch when you first get it?

I have no idea!

Is this an on-demand feature where you can access these programs at will? Or is it a network with set scheduled programming that you tune into online?

My understanding of the quote was the latter.

the WWE website describes it as:

24/7 STREAMING NETWORK WITH BOTH SCHEDULED PROGRAMS AND AN ON-DEMAND LIBRARY THAT YOU CAN ACCESS EVERYWHERE.

Eta: I think that's the only way for it to work if it wants to air original content as well.

It's also said that content will he unedited and uncensored. That probably means Chris Benoit will be back on its programming (probably with an advisory warning beforehand).

That's what reports online are saying, which I wouldn't be surprised about since WWE has been getting a bit more relaxed showing Benoit in some of their products. I think it's a good move. Benoit had a lot of great matches, and people can choose whether or not they want to see them. WWE should never honor him in their hall of fame or anything, but I have no problem with them including him in their history.

As for the network, it's definitely appealing. 10 bucks a month to get access to all new pay-per-views is already a great deal. I thought this whole network was going to be a dud when I heard about it a few months back, but it sounds like it's being executed well.

Reading the article is did mention that they will also be showing ECW and that does get some interest in me.

Though their is something just feeling dirty about it. There was a doc on ECW and no footage could be shown because it was WWE property and it just irked me. Still be nice to see and those can only be really viewed as uncensored.

Now I can watch some glory days again from my nostalgic youth. Say 1992-2000ish. Whenever the rock, and Austin were both done. Mankind and the undertaker both were basically done then too. Even though the undertaker still comes back once a Year to collect his million+ payday.

The WWE lost all its star power in a rather short time period and IMO never returned to living up to the E in WWE.

There are a few matches I know for sure I'll check out as soon as the Network is released:

Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin - I Quit Match at Wrestlemania 13.

The Rock vs Stone Cold at Wrestlemania 17

Chris Benoit vs HHH vs HBK at Wrestlemania 20

The Outsiders an Hulk Hogan vs Sting, Macho Man Randy Savage and Lex Luger at Bash At The Beach 1996

The entire Sabu vs Taz rivalry in ECW

The entire Tommy Dreamer vs Raven rivalry in ECW

Summerslam 96 Mankind vs Undertaker: boiler room brawl. Always overshadowed by the amazing hell in a cell where mankind went off the top of the cell then through it. Easily the most exciting moment in wrastling history.

I have all of those matches on videotape from when I saw the PPVs live.

Another good one I have is the 97 SummerSlam where Owen messed up the piledriver on Stone Cold and really gave him a piledriver.

I remember that. Then they even played it up on air with "Owen 3:16 says I just broke your neck!"

Austin and The Rock were both done around 2003, but Taker kept going full time until around 2009. I know everyone considers the Attitude Era to be the peak, but I think WWE was still pretty watchable up to about 2008. That's when they really started losing people faster than they could replace them with Kurt Angle leaving a couple years prior, Jeff Hardy going back to TNA, and then Shawn Michaels, Edge, Batista, Triple H, and Chris Jericho all retiring a couple years later. Now Wrestlemania is always so nostalgia based. There's been a few moments scattered over the last couple years that have been cool, like CM Punk's shoot promos in 2011-2012, but the main event scene is so empty nowadays.
