The Fresh PtwP
Seems much more of a Stark thing than a Ned thing.
northwesterner
Maybe unlike the other regions, the Northerners are a bunch of romantics when it comes to their leaders

Fat King Robert
"Know the men who follows you and let them know you. Don't ask your men to die for a stranger." Ned was a supreme commander and leader. He did not ask his subjects to do something he wouldn't do.It reminds me of an "experiment" (if you will) of the workers at a industrial factory a caouple of centuries ago. They who did the experiment did several things that affected the employees: They made it so that more sunlight came through the windows, they shortened their breaks, (yes, you read that right) they changed the schedule etc. Whatever they did, the workers were happier and more satisfied with the company. Why? Because the board spent time and energy on their workers. And that's exactly what Ned did. This, in turn, inspired loyalty.
Lord Thornhart
Politicians are respected a lot more when they're gone. And Ned was pretty respectable even when he was alive. The Northerners seem to be very conservative and dislike change, so having their honorable ruling family of many millennia suddenly replaced by two sadistic monsters shouldn't sit well with them. MCBC
Ned had a solid reign as Lord of Winterfell. The northern people go from Ned to Roose Bolton, who enters the scene(along with the Freys) by killing or taking prisoner not just Robb Stark but members of each noble family in the North. It's pretty easy to understand why these people would fight against a Bolton rule of the north. Ned ends up looking so much better in retrospect to them that they want the Starks back. Charisma can be an asset but it isn't a better one than being a solid ruler for a long period of time. Especially if you are talking about inspiring loyalty out of your bannermen. Good, old fashioned treating people with respect can take you a long way, especially in a fantasy world where it's so rarely put into practice. Scrambled Aegon
You're loyal to people like Ned because people like Ned are loyal to you. This sentence sums it up perfectly.
eggs
not particularly charming or someone to be afraid of.to who? you?Unlike Ned, who married a southerner and even adapted some cultural southern character traits (probably because of being fostered by Jon Arryn and marrying a Southerner). He is probably the most ''Southern'' northern Paramount Lord.define "southern traits".
Kasporio
Eddard was a paragon of the feudal arystocracy. Not overly demanding of his bannermen and trustworthy.Unlike Roose, this piece of shit worst than a leech. Ned was often described as lacking his brother's charisma, but many reminded him as impressive, even if he was physically less impressive.Bout his eyes as cold as ice etc...
