Hutch
I'm a boring person. Cheap beer and semi cheap whiskey. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Ser Scot A Ellison
Okay Balvenie Doublewood 12 is about $40.00. It think it is quite good. The Balvenie Doublewood 17 is $140.00 for the same amount of Scotch. Is it worth the increased price?

Nas!
What a great honour to start a new drinking thread! I feel as though I am suitably qualified. Tonight: Elysian's Loser PA, New Belgium Ranger IPA, then...?
S John
You been drinking, son? http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/topic/105280-in-vino-veritas-what-are-you-drinking/ s'alright, me too. I put a terrible hurting on a 12 pack of Lone Star this evening.

Is it worth the increased price? Those are the questions I don't want to know the answer to. If it isn't worth it you are out the extra money, if it is it gets even more expensive in addition to making the more affordable option less desirable in comparison. The Marquis de Leech
Bibo ergo sum. (To answer the question: a nice bottle of vodka, fresh from the freezer).
Ser Scot A Ellison
Seli,Yup, that's why I'd love it if someone who's had the Balvenie Doublewood 17 to chime in and give and opinion before I drop a small fortune on a bottle of whisky.
Hereward
I've had it. It was lovely; rich and smooth. It did ruin the 12yo for a while, though.I'm sure you'd enjoy it, but you can get something similar in taste and quality for less, at least here. An above entry level Glenfarclas or an Aberlour, for instance.
Xray the Enforcer
Yep. Above-entry-level Glenfarclas and Aberlour are available in the States for less than $140. I am drinking water and Alka-Selzer Cold Plus. A sad, sad weekend Chez X.

An above entry level Glenfarclas or an Aberlour, for instance. as i mentioned in a previous thread on whisky i attended a tasting of the full line of balvenie products with raidne some years ago. after that the 12 year has almost no appeal to me at all. i still have a bottle on the shelf that has gone untouched for at least three years. so, yeah ser scot, the 17 is a lot better than the 12.. Sylva Santagar
I drank all the Floreffe I had left last night... Will order more trapist beer soon, haven't decided which one yet... I loved the Floreffe and will def. get some more but I feel like tasting something new, too...

Wicked Woodpecker of West
Beer. Usually various Polish mainstream light beers. Ginger ale.Half-beer half-lemonade for refreshment. In social situations vodka. Clear, herbal, rarely fruit one.Despise basically everything made of grapes (grapes are to be eaten fresh!) - vines and vine distillates like cognac or metaxa. Also not fan of whiskey. Unless with Coke. Also: 70% spirit with this weird grape drink that taste like dish cleaner unless really, really half-frozen.
Ser Scot A Ellison
Mixing Whisky with anything but water is just wrong. And I don't mix with water any longer.
