TWOP/PTV Unsullied Thread, Part VII: [Book & Show Spoilers]

Well, it looks like the TWOP Unsullied thread is disappearing soon, and it looks like most of the regulars have migrated to Previously TV. Here's a link to the new Unsullied thread on Previously TV. I'll update it once the season starts. Here's also a link to the NeoGAF Unsullied discussion. (I'll work on putting an indexed archive up over the weekend; that's going to take more effort than I can afford at the office).

THE RULES:

We do not name any TWoP by his/her username.

We do not accuse TWoP posters of being bookwalkers or otherwse being dishonest cheats. That constitutes 'gossiping' and 'talking behind their backs' about members of another website, and our mods will close us down for that. Who is or isn't a bookwalker over at TWoP is THEIR business, not ours.

We do not air any beefs or grievances with the TWoP site here. If you've been banned from there, or think their policies are unfair or whatever your beef with them, take it up with them. Don't bring it here.

New posters to this thread
If you see another member here whinging and posting negative comments about their personal complaints against TWoP, or violating the above rules, report the post. Thank you.

Oh man... I love their Lysa/Littlefinger speculation. I can't wait for this season to start, if only to watch the Unsullied reactions.

Top 5 Unsullied reactions I'm looking forward to seeing this season:

1. "Only Cat."

2. Koff...

3. "You raped her. You murdered her. You killed her children."

4. "Is there gold in the village?" (Pleaseohplease let that be in).

5. "Stannis! Stannis! STANNIS!"

"Stannis! Stannis! STANNIS!" is a bit ruined by the fact that they already know he's going to the Wall. I actually hope they hold off on Lady Stonehart until episode 10 of next season. That would make it an even bigger shock.

Yay, a brand-spanking-new thread! Thanks so much for doing all the work, Independent George!

Yes, it is interesting that they're turning their focus toward the Vale, after not having seen it for so long. If we do get some scenes with Petyr and Lysa's loud...um, merrymaking (which I bet we will), the resulting hilarity among the Unsullied will be a joy to read.

I'm also really enjoying their Shae discussion because her character is such a departure from the books that really, we're almost as in the dark as they are. All we bookwalkers really know is that she (probably) dies at the end of the season. We have no idea if she also betrays Tyrion, whether she's threatened/deceived/bribed into doing so, or whether Tyrion is the one to kill her.

Making her loyal to Sansa as well as Tyrion creates all kinds of possibilities in dealing with the aftermath of Sansa's escape. At this point, their theories are really as good as any of ours.

What is more to speculate ? It's clear by some trailers that the event is going to occur exactly as it is in the book .

I'm intrigued by their sudden interest in the Vale. Just a few weeks ago they were talking about how they never wanted to see batty old Lysa ever again :P.

Interesting discussion at PTV re Jaime 'on the Redemption Train.' And whether there's room for Theon somewhere in the rear cars, as well. Interestingly, to me, I actually watch quality tv differently now because of the Unsullied.

Do we think there's room on The Redemption Train for Theon, too? Jaime gets to ride up with the engineer, but might Theon get tossed aboard an open freight car, near the rear? Surely he has spent some time while being whittled to compose even more verses to WhiteStumbler's tavern song, "Theon Should Have." He knows that he's one of the few to know that the Stark boys are still alive -- or at least, that he didn't kill them. He thinks he knows that he has no other value to anyone alive or to the universe. He has, even in only selfish terms, this one opportunity to do something that matters. And he would have the chance to take a tiny bit of pride in demonstrating or just knowing that the Bastard never managed to separate him from this information: he held fast to it. If Yara can get him to the Wall...

When specualting about Theon they keep refering to Theon beeing the only one knowing Bran and Rickon are still alive, but didn't he tell Ramsay that (in the escape-scene where he talks about Ned)? Or am I remembering this completely wrong? The Unsullied usually pick up on everything, so it's strange that they would have missed that (if I'm right, which I'm starting to think I'm not.)

EDIT: I also seem to remember that they speculated about what would happen if Theon went hunting after them, after that episode. Or am I imagining things?

I am really enjoying their discussion about the Vale and how wrong they are about it such as thinking that the Vale Lords are going to like Littlefinger and that Lysa in convinced the Lannisters killed her husband. they should be genuinely shocked by what happens there this season.

Hey, their speculation got me thinking:

[crackpot] What if Tommen was the one who poisoned Joffrey, fearing Joffrey would hurt or kill him in the future? And the whole sweet, inocent boy, is a facade? He even gets to keept his hot sister in law! He's the Master Manipulator![end crackpot]

I think it's more likely that he's merely Ser Pounce's catspaw. Never trusted that little bugger.

And if he was, that just begs the question: does that make him literally a catspaw, or figuratively?

Metaphysically. But we all know the ultimate manipulator is Balerion. He will take what is his, with fire and blood. Be prepared.

Eee, I love the Unsullied discussions! The moment in S2 I nearly blew out a lung laughing was "Shadow Baby Baratheon: Black of Air."

Man, they're really trying to figure out how king's blood works.

I do wonder where the Brotherhood is going to figure in this thing. I thought they were going to be some kind of cool armed radical Socialist liberation front or something, some anti-monarchy team that I could get behind, but by the end of Arya's time with them, I really felt pretty skeeved out by them. The whole LoL thing and then even with that magic they couldn't beat the Hound (even though they're Team Lord of Light and the Hound's greatest fear is fire!!!), and they DID lie to Gendry and Arya, and their leader is in league with Melisandre just by virtue of the LoL affiliation. Now I really don't like the Brotherhood and am quite suspicious of them.

Stoneheart ought to make things more complicated.

There's a pro-Stannis vs anti-Stannis squabble going on over at NeoGAF. Apparently, that's a phenom that cuts across all GoT communities. :P

I really don't get the love.

He's so dull. He did father a Vag Demon, which was fun for a while, and he did get his ass kicked when he attacked the city.

That's it, and the Vag Demon was more Melisandre than him.

Maybe he'll do something interesting this season, but if not then I hope Joffrey gets another archery target or he gets a wedding invite.

He's the motherfucking iron, more so than those self proclaimed iron men Greyjoys, he's absolute, he's fearless, he's the kind of guy that would stand his ground to the last minute.

You want him in action? Well, continuing the ending of S3, he would go to the Wall to help Night's Watch out.
