Two Swords Recap and Analysis

Westeros

Recommended Posts

The first episode is done, and our guide to “Two Swords” is now online, with a detailed recap, some thoughts on the qualities of the episode, and a look at the adaptation from the perspective of translating the book to the screens. Still a bit sparse on images from this season—apologies for that, something we hope to correct soon!

Besides our own review, there’s a great deal of discussion over at the A Song of Ice and Fire forum, which we highly recommend for fans (there’s sections for those who have not read the novels at all, but be vigilant about not peeking too much at other threads).

Anybody got any idea as why episodes 8,9, and 10 don't have names yet?

(I don't think HBO was this late last year?)

Over on WIC it's posted that:

8. The Mountain and the Viper

9. The Watchers on the Wall

10. The Children.

We've known since ACoK they were pissed off at Rhaegar, which is why it took until near the end before they came around and sent troops. That doesn't really change anything about people not-Rhaegar.

Big drop by Oberyn categorically stating Rhaegar fell In Love with another woman and caused a war.

Perhaps the dornish are not so enamoured of the targs after all...

I've been wondering how long it would take them to broach the subject on the show. D&D et al must know how much internet activity (i.e. googling) Jon Snow would bring those famous/infamous letters and symbols to the fore. xD

I eagerly await for the hints to start flying for show watchers... :D I literally have to bite my tongue when my none bookish friends talk about the storylines. :ack:

Tbh at this point I don't want Martin to confirm anything about Jon's parentage in the books. Let him go to his grave like all the other characters: blissfully ignorant. or if it's going to be someone, please not this soap opera R+L=J stuff, unless it means Robert+ Lancel = Jeyne.

Ep. 1. S 4. Not to bad, I wonder where the Hounds storyline is going, I was hoping for something way down the road with his brother but some cues are missing. I enjoy Arya more than I thought I would at this point because of the small curve with her and the Hound Dog. I am sure the Hound could get to where I previously thought he might end up, but his road could be lighter.
