Got too far over 400 posts and that's what happens - although I've seen threads go much further over.

This is a reminder not to let that happen again.

Your quotes didn't copy over, but Princess Rhaenys, the Queen Who Never Was sounds pretty good.

Also Baelor Breakspear and Brandon Stark.

The problem for me is that GRRM does death so well, there aren't really any soft touches on the list.

Waymar Royce's death at the hand of the Others was chilling and memorable, but we don't really get to know Royce or like him first.

Baelor Breakspear on the other hand is somebody people like.

I personally have more investment in Brandon Stark even though we don't get to know him because of the emotional investment in the Starks in general.

Just a question: in the book, we don't actually "see" Yoren die, iirc. That's only TV, which is OK. Personally I lean toward the book.

The proposed changes make this a very Stark/Targaryen heavy list, but I'm good with that.

Even though I didn't read these books, I'm feeling like Aemon, Daemon & Baelor Breakspear need to be there. Likewise, Rickard & Brandon for the ingeniously twisted, warped evil manner of their deaths.

And Rhaegar's death was epic AND fraught with romantic implications. And there's those lines from Robert: "He raped Lyanna how many times? And I only killed him once"; "I kill him every night in my dreams."

Aerys death was somewhat mundane compared to these others, but the weight of it that Jamie carries is felt thorughout the book and implications had Jamie NOT killed him are even greater.
