Joffrey, the first of his name - Appreciation thread

The Kinkslayer

Recommended Posts

He never tried to burn down King's Landing, even when it seemed like the city may be lost.

He was a good son to Cersei, remembering to proudly wear her sigil as well, to remind the world that he was Lannister as well.

He never engaged in any propaganda about others being bastards or products of incest.

He was enlightened and sympathetic enough to try to arrange for Bran's euthanasia (Dany only offered this gift to Drogo, someone she loved).

He never burned anyone alive. That is something.

He continued to provide employment for some of the disabled, like Illyn Payne.

He didn't have an Oedipus complex. If he had had one, Cersei would probably have noticed and used it to her advantage.

He continued to care for his father's honor (as far as he knew, Robert was his father).

He made sure that Sansa remained a part of court life and hence did not get neglected.

He keeps his word true. He promises Sansa to give Robb's head to her and he wanted to present Robb's head on his wedding feast just for Sansa. How honorable.

And how sensitive. He realized that Sansa would appreciate this keepsake of her dead brother.

Am I creepy for wanting to see how Joffs sexuality developed. I just know he would have to some weird ass shit to climax.

That is a vile attribution to this great character. No, Joffrey would climax after the most vanilla foreplay in the missionary position. He would even turn the lights out so as not to embarrass Margaery. he would never sleep with any whores.

King Joffrey had:

The wisdom of the Crone, for he showed his wit naming all of his swords.

The mercy of the Mother, for he saved Ned of having to explain to his bastard who his mother was.

The innocence of the Maiden, for he took those kitties from their mother without realizing the consequences.

The judgment of the Father, for he recognized that Dontos was no knight.

The strength of the Warrior, for he used his crossbow to repeal the looters that were trying to endanger his family and household.

The industriousness of the Smith, for he rebuilt the royal fleet and brought food to the starving masses of his city.

And the charisma of the Stranger, for they have about as many fans.

I salute you Ser, I doubt anyone can top this. You almost make Joffrey look as good as Stannis:

I'm not actually convinced Book!Joffrey was a psychopath. A vicious little shit? No doubt.

But he's had an upbringing that's consistently encouraged him to be vicious, arrogant, callous and arbitrary. As a general rule Robert didn't give a fuck about Joff other than to give him the occasional beating when his misdeeds disturbed him to much, and Cersei was the main source of miseducation to begin with. Clearly he hasn't been led to believe a King has any sort of duties and responsibilities at all, which would be surprising if his father wasn't Bob Baratheon.

And then the worthless and vicious little shit has to rule a kingdom that's falling apart and in a state of civil war... Underage, under significant pressure, and ruling under a regency whose limits appear to be unclear. A lot of what Joffrey does could be (and judging by his age probably is) an attempt to test those limits. And since Cersei doesn't overrule him for whatever reason, he finds out the limits ain't there. And goes amok, basically because he doesn't really know any better: Nobody has tried to make sure he does.

Joffrey was the first person in a long time to even try to put Tywin in his place. Let's face it, Mace Tyrell and Walder Frey get a lot of shit for waiting until wars are almost over before they rush in to claim credit, but that's basically what Tywin did and he gets called a genius for it. Joffrey was right to point out that Tywin was basically just hiding under Casterly Rock while Robert did all the real fighting.

He was a Don Juan. He was engaged to two of the most beautiful women in Westeros, and when he broke his engagement with Sansa, she broke into tears. But was soon rewarded by the notion that she propably was still having the opportunity to share a night o more with the king and bear his handsome bastards. So considering!

He followed Tyrion advise and never failed to remind him what he was, for the world sure wasn't.

He was a tough one, he never used blunt swords, he kissed with steel. Robb Stark was a pussy mamma's boy.

He was always thinking positive, that's why he didn't consider it a loss when Robert die.

Edit: spelling
