Tywin didn't decide to kill Eddard and start the war, that was Joffrey.

Tywin didn't push Bran out a window, that was Jaime.

If stupid, fat, drunken, Robert hadn't gotten himself killed, Tywin would have been grumpily minding the gold mines in Casterly Rock, and not lording over all of Westeros.

Also, the red wedding was wrong, but Tywin was trying to end a revolution, and he succeeded. He probably saved lives doing that, ultimately.

Tywin hated his dwarf son, who's large head killed his beloved wife in childbirth, and treated him poorly. Tyrion returned the favor. So I disagree, tywin didn't get off easy, he got about what he deserved.

I'm full of nothing but love ,for the starks an I know who did what...I'm looking for justice it starts with bran and as far as I'm concerned Tyrion killing tywin I would have preferred Arya giving tywin the gift would have been good .tywin was a evil son of bitch and Charles dance brings him too life in a brilliant portrayal.

If you hate Tywin then yeah he did. Cersei's destruction of everything he had built would have been a far worse punishment for him than taking a bolt in the bowels. He cared about his legacy above all else and it took Cersei about a month to destroy it.

Seeing his reaction to Cersie reinstating the Faith Militant would have been the best

Snickers with contempt.....

Yeah, Tywin was just protecting the realm. All the terrible things his family caused to happen, none of it was his fault. He's getting a raw deal!

Truthfully, he did get off easy. He didn't suffer nearly enough and his humiliation was tempered by Cersei. Although dying on the privy and leaving behind a disgusting corpse wasn't exactly getting off scott free. Still it would have been nice to have Westeros see him for what he truly was, a murderous, petty, hypocrite.

Arya is more evil than Tywin. An indiscriminate serial killer.

Tywin was a loving and caring father! A decent man who doesn't deserve to be discredited here!! :angry2:

True, he lets Tyrion go around for years wasting Lannister gold on whores and wine, and he probably spoiled Jaime and Cersei. He was a great brother as well, when his brother Gerion abandons his bastard daughter to go off on a foolish chase for a lost sword, who takes her in? Tywin, and he even arranges a match for her with an heir to an old, proud House. Add great uncle to the list.

This actually true, to behonest his actions to Tyrion was in his fashion protective, and his denial of CR was a father's blind hope for his eldest son.

It's quite easy to attack a man once he is dead. If Tywin hadn't been shot with a crossbow by the KINSLAYER Tyrion, you would not be so bold. All he'd have to do is send a bard to play the Rains of Castamere at your holdfast and you'd relent. :P Easy to be brave when others have done your dirty work after all.

Naw, but seriously... Tywin may have been a tad too ruthless for anyone's own good, but the blame for starting the war lays squarely on shoulders of Littlefinger who manipulated both: The Lannisters and the Starks. And if we don't want to blame him we can easily enough point out that Eddard started the whole damned thing and Tywin only moved in to protect his children and standing within the realm. Everything from there was just war, and we all know the saying...

All's fair in love and war.

got to say I think Littlefinger was just nudging things along for his own benefit, they started the war because of longrunning enmity the foundation of mutual hatred was already there.

Tywin got off unbelievably easy. Could have been worse. For all the pain and torture he inflicted on people who stood in his way....

I was honestly hoping for Arya to finish him off tbh, hers would have been enormously satisfying, but Tyrion got there first.

when I read that scene in the book I was more worried about Tyrion than I was concerned for Tywin, whether kinslaying and turning into a straightup indisputable murderer would cost Tyrion some form of payback before it all ends

Arya's like twelve years old and consumed with a desire for vengeance. Misguided and broken, yes. Evil, not so much. You'd be surprised at how "evil" people can be when confronted with that much grief and injustice, especially at an age where they can't really handle it.

Personally, I was more disappointed with Joffrey's death than Tywin's. Not because I wanted a Stark to kill him, but because I wanted the little jerk to suffer more, and I wanted him to experience some fear and humility in the last few moments of his life.

Tyrion got off hard, not Tywin getting off easy.

I wish someone else had killed Tywin. Anyone else. Then Tyrion wouldn't have to live his days as a kinslayer, which can't be easy.

Even Joffrey's murder, give Varys a few months and he would have exposed Tyrion's innocence to Westeros.

I also feel Tywin got off easy. Too easy. I am glad he is dead however. When LF is dead, I'll be quite happy. And a Stark better be the one to do it. Sansa preferably, but UnCat would work too. But I think Sansa needs it.
