Wmarshal
Who is your favorite character born of the riverlands?I find the rivermen the most interesting of the groups. They have been given more emotion then any of the regions. My favorite character would have to Edmure Tully, the kindest of lords, the scape goat of the young wolf, the floppy fish, and the bane of Tywin. Twenty of House Goodmen
Edmure Tully followed by the legendary Brynden Rivers. Their warriors also seem more honorable than every other region's warriors(except Freys).
Boarsbane
Jason Mallister, mainly for cutting down the Greyjoy heir himself.

Tyrus Martell
Tytos Blackwood is an honourable lord and man of the people, as noted by Jaime in AFFC. He won Riverrun back in AGOT and was the last to hold out in the name of the North, proving his loyalty. Jason Mallister is another bad-ass who seems to be everywhere when it comes to famous tourneys or protecting his region from war. I have a minor theory that he had a thing for Catelyn Stark ("lavish gifts" at her wedding, his manner whenever they appeared together in her POV, her thoughts about him) and that Robb Stark made a sneaky but failed plan of shipping her off to Seagard before the Red Wedding to let them get a bit closer and have his mother re-marry an important bannerman. The Santa of House Claus
The Blackfish, I was never a fan of Edmure, he never impressed me. And because I do not think "any dead Frey" really counts.

Fat Mac
Jason Mallister. Although I'm also very intrigued by Hoster Tully. I wished we knew more about him. Edmure is great too.

Mad Monkey
Brynden is probably the funniest character from the Riverlands. Seriously, Brynden was like an artist, winding Jaime up with those smart-ass remarks during the fake parley in AFFC. I would have loved to see the look on Jaime's face when Brynden finally admitted that he was trolling Jaime the whole time and wasn't going to surrender. Red Wedding Cake
A small hope for House Tully: The Deluxe Harper Voyager editions have the house sigils on the books. The books have been mostly centered around the sigils that have been on the books. If we think of:A Game of Thrones: StarksA Clash of Kings: BaratheonsA Storm of Swords: LannistersA Feast for Crows: GreyjoysA Dance with Dragons: Targaryens That would leave Tyrells, Martells, and Tullys to take the lead for one of the last two books. Fire Eater
The Blackfish, a skilled and competent soldier and commander who first won fame for his exploits in the War of the Ninepenny Kings, and later advised Robb in his victories. As for Edmure, well his heart is in the right place regarding his smallfolk just not his head.

LROSyke
Blackfish. I think he would have made an excellent HoTK to Robb if he would have gone that route, and honored him with that title.

Fire Eater
How so? His victory over Tywin was brilliant. It was tactical victory, but a strategic defeat. Had he let Tywin pass, Tywin would have found himself miles away from where he needed to be trapped in the Westerlands unable to aid against any army that descended upon KL. He doesn't have a head for strategy. He could have harried as he crossed the river and went back to the Westerlands. Bloodraven I can't believe I forgot about him. Sorcerer, greenseer, master of spycraft and intrigue, and the one who was crucial in the Targaryen victory at the Battle of the Redgrass Field. It looked more bad for Robb if he let him thru, Robb less men then Twyin and it was Tywin's house.
unSonofStannis
The Blackfish and Tytos Blackwood is a close second, and yes I do agree with you that they seem the most emotional and human peoples in the books.
