DragonBound
There's a couple posts out there about dragons under Winterfell specifically, and lots of comments in other topics about what may be underneath it, but I didn't see a topic that was trying to discuss all of what may be under Winterfell. From around the forum I have seen these following boiled-down theories: * A dragon is under Winterfell - supposedly Summer witnessed a dragon emerging from Winterfell"The smoke and ash clouded his eyes, and in the sky he saw a great winged snaked whose roar was a river of flame. He bared his teeth, but then the snake was gone. Behind the cliffs tall fires were eating up the stars." * The crypts are connected to the CotF underground tunnel system / There is a weirwood throne like where Bran is at now * Not connected, but is a CotF cavern with weirdwood throne * The crypts have proof that R+L=J * The original Lightbringer is down there * The Great Other is down there - Winterfell is the spot where that Long Night ended, where "winter fell" * A repository of dragon eggs * The horn of Joramun * The crypts are on top of volcanic tunnels * There ain't shit but collapsed tunnels * Hidden entrance/exit to Winterfell * Tomb of the Nights King I personally don't have a singular theory as most of these are almost pure speculation, weakly supported in the text, but make for interesting possibilities and DO fit logically given other assumptions. What do you guys think is under Winterfell? If this topic gets some meat under it I'll update the list as we go on.

LROSyke
I think it would be a nice touch if there was something pointing to R+L=J. Like some Targaryen cloak, or Rhaegars harp. Idk. Something.

Jehanne
If the R+L=J theory is true, it may have been a dragon egg left for Jon. And who knows, maybe it hatched when Winterfell was sacked, which was when the "red star" was still "bleeding" in the sky.

Knight Of Winter
I'd really like to know where is textual support for any of the "X is in Winterfell crypts" theories
DragonBound
If the R+L=J theory is true, it may have been a dragon egg left for Jon. And who knows, maybe it hatched when Winterfell was sacked, which was when the "red star" was still "bleeding" in the sky. That's interesting, someone also suggested that Rhaegar's marriage cloak is down there with Lyanna as proof. If it's true that Summer saw a dragon flying out, I'm very inclined to believe it's because there was an egg (or more) down there. Pure speculation. I'd really like to know where is textual support for any of the "X is in Winterfell crypts" theories Besides the dragon under winterfell, everything else is speculation. Winterfell is clearly VERY important to the story. There must be more to it and the texts are so far incredibly and purposefully vague leaving us to guess. The Idle Raven
Rhaegar, Benjen Stark, Gerion Lannister & several of Robert's bastards are all down in the lowest level of the crypts running the most select poker game in the 7 kingdoms, surrounded by a huge pile of empty beer bottles, pizza boxes, cigars and nachos. Littlefinger has spent the last few years trying to find the money to 'buy in'. Oh, and the Hound is now running the door on a recommendation from Arya..... OberynBlackfyre
I think a lot of the there is "x inside the crypts of Winterfell" has to do with the fact that the crypts are displayed through A LOT of the scenes of the books. Also, many characters mention the "lower levels" yet we never actually get to SEE these lower levels. There is a good point about the whole idea of "Winterfell" getting its name from where the last Long Night ended......and perhaps that ALSO is why someone with the blood of the Starks has to stay within it? If so, then they are screwed, unless Benjen is in WF right now simply messing with the Boltons, yet also insuring that there always WILL be a Stark in WF.
