Tyrion and Dragons

This is most likely been posted before, but i'm not exactly great with computers :/ sorry, guys

So one of my earliest theories was that Tyrion was going to eventually ride a dragon. And when i say earliest i mean they had just hatched and I liked Tyrion so I combined the two for basically no reason.

Well, thats not entirely true. I saw that Tyrion was one of the more "good" guys. He has morals and honor and he's wise. (as seen by Ned, honor alone will get you killed if you're not smart about it) And that's pretty much it. I generally look for people who are smart AND have morals and then build wild theories around them. for example Jon Snow, Tyrion, Later-on-Jamie, Dany(who may only be smart because of her counsel, but whatever)

I saw the tv show first and shortly after the hatching, I came up with the Tyrion-is-going-to-ride-a-dragon theory (thinking I was the only one who had come up with it XD)

Then I came across a chapter in the first book talking about how much Tyrion had dreamed of dragons, how he used to stare into the fire and picture himself with one, how he wanted one and was crushed at the age of, like, eight when he found out they were all dead, etc

So, I want to hear your thoughts. Who thinks this is going to happen? Why/why not?

Linking Jaime and wisdom seems like a bit of a stretch... I don't see this happening even if he turns out to be a secret targ as some believe. Just because it makes me laugh really. The image of him riding one just seems really out of place and funny and not in keeping with the tone of the series. Sorry I don't have any facts or anything like 'Tyrion's scared of heights' to back it up but it just doesn't seem to work.

There are a few hints, I think, that he may ride one. Tyrion has been said to cast a large shadow... this could (probably) mean that his influence on the events of the story can be felt throughout Westeros/Essos. However, it could also imply that he will cast a shadow from dragon back.

There is the poetic irony of a dwarf on dragon back. Going from being looked down upon his whole life, to being the one who is literally looking down on everyone.

One of my favorites "hints" is the big deal that is made in GOT about Tyrion designing his own saddle and having a special one created for Bran. I think it *could* foreshadow another special saddle that he would use on his dragon.

I am sure there are other things that I have missed... of course ASOIAF has so many little details that it is easy to find some to back up almost any theory.

I think it's his personality that just doesn't work for it, I see him as more of an advisor. Can you imagine the cringeworthy dialogue if he, Dany and presumably Jon are up there together having a whale of a time?

Jon: It's as cold as the Wall up here!

Tyrion: Agreed, could use a good woman

Jon: Won't find many up here

Tyrion: (Glances at Dany) I'm willing if she is!

Hahahahaha my head explodes.

Yep something is definitely going to happen with the two dragons that are still in Mereen. My guess is Tyrion befriends one of them. And Victarion might actually get one using the horn, leaving Dany with only one. Unless tyrion decides to stay there and help out Dany. But right now my bet is that she at least loses one of her dragons, if not both.

Just because she hatched the egg, doesn't mean that the dragons will be loyal to only her.

She's their mother because she hatched the eggs and because her blood.

The targaryen blood does play a part however. The fact that she hatched the eggs doesn't necessarily mean that the dragons are beholden to her.

Korgan did you get a chance to read the princess and the queen? There is a load of interesting information about the targaryens and dragon bonding in that story.

Drogon definitely seems to be her's but I'm not convinced about the other two yet.
