Sitters on the Iron throne

So George says that a few people will sit on the iron throne before the end. What are your thoughts?

-Tommen: at the moment...

-Mace: since Kevan's dead, and Cersei screwed hersulf over, he migh`t keep it vacantbecause Myrcella will probably get killed soon.

-Stannis: he'll take it from Mace, and it's rightfully his after Tommen & Myrcella die

-Aegon VI & Arianne: Possibly lures Stannis at Storm's End, kills him, and takes it from then whilst proclaiming himself

-Euron: I feel like he has a huge evil role coming up for him...him and Aegon were brought up to late in the story to have small roles

-Dany: Maybe she'll go mad and get killed

-Jon: cliche

Meanwhile in the North....

-Sansa: probably QitN, becaus Littlefinger knows how much she can inherit. I'm wondering if the death of Lady foreshadows that she'll become a Queen instead of a Lady. I think she'll have a major role in TWoW; seeing how fast HBO is getting through her material.

-Rickon: If he returns, Sansa will totally yield it to him and possibly be his regent. Final KitN.

Your thoughts?

Tommen will get overthrown by Aegon VI, with the support from Dorne.

Dany will try to retake the throne, but i think sadly by the time she gets there, the WW will be a presence in westeros and winter will truly have come.

After the battle of Dawn i think the red keep will be destroyed and westeros will be divided into their kingdoms once again

I can see Sansa ruling the north as regent until Rickon comes of age

Tommen -> Night's King

"If you think there's a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention."

Kidding.

1) Tommen (not killed)

2) Aegon VI

3) Jon Stark

Dany will lose forces in the Battle of Slaver's Bay, then the battle with the white walkers. Then again with Aegon, with both exhausting their resources.

Jon will step up with the North behind him, the true heir. Finish off the weak remains of Daenerys Blackfyre and Aegon Targaryen, and ride Ghost into the final battle.

Tyrion will die by the end. My theory is brown Ben or one of the second sons will kill him because the show says the wearer lands gold minds are dry and if that's true in the books as well as the show, well tyrions gonna owe a lot of money with no way to pay it. Slipping a knife in his throat may gain brown Ben more than relying on tyrion's word.

I think Aegon will be king aye, but he'll get himself killed. I think it's more poetic if he is rhaegars son and dies shortly after getting the throne through either greyscale or being a fool and leading a charge with an army. And him dying despite all the work put into him thru varys and his birds.

After Aegon that is pretty tough I don't think Euron will make an attempt at the iron throne without dragons and he has no serious support besides his many ships. It would also be very interesting to see little finger come out of the wood works and be responsible for Aegons death just because him and varys have this whole competition going. I sense doom for Harry Hardyng and sweet robin. However Sansa is a true player she will end up in power of something.

As for the throne well no one will follow stannis so he's doomed to lose it. Maybe a true curve ball is thrown out there and it's shireen. I don't think dany will ever sit on the iron throne I think she'll get close and die trying

So let's say

Tomen

Aegon

Shireen and

Tommen: Right now

Aegon with Arianne: Soon. (Cersei will escape to Casterly Rock)

Myrcella: After Aegon dies somehow(without producing heirs), Dorne will crown Myrcella, since that makes Trystane king. People believe she is Robert's daughter, so she will be Aegon's heir through her Targaryen blood. Dany, Stannis and Shireen will be too far from KL at this time.

Myrcella dies (gold shall be their shrouds..). either via

(i) Invasion from Vale and the North aided by LF. LF takes the IT and Cersei as his queen consort(for Westerlands' support), Cersei planning for revenge or power, LF promising revenge for Sansa by bringing Cersei's destruction.

(ii) Stannis, Jon, Rickon and Shireen- Unlikely, since I got a feeling that Shireen will die and Stannis will support either Dany or Aegon who are more rightful heirs than him. My bet is on Dany, since she looks like the prophesied savior to Stannis. He will hate Mel for making him a fool, but he is a righteous kind of person, so he will not war against the real heir. If Stannis comes to know about R+L=J, or that Jon is AA reborn, something similar will happen.

(iii) Dany comes finally, to take everything Cersei holds dear away. Myrcella dies, Casterly Rock goes to Tyrion, (now comes wishful thinking)

Jaime gets pardoned by Dany after she comes to know his side of the story(she really needs to learn to forgive once or twice). Arya and/or Tyrion punishes Cersei so hard(remember Quentyn?) that death will be a kinder fate to her, then Jaime comes and strangles her, then kills himself. Although I would really love to see Jaime marry Brienne and their child, the Lord of Tarth becoming the next Arthur Dayne. ;)

I don't know who comes after Dany. Could be Jon, though I want him to be the Night's King, a good Nights King so the terror of Others will be gone for ever, and then Tyrion becoming King with Sansa as the Queen, or the seven kingdoms becoming seven kingdoms again.

I like the order Tommen-Aegon-Myrcella and the explanation for it. Dorne crowning Myrcella after Aegon, brilliant!

Tommen and Stannis

Aegon and Stannis

Dany and Shireen

White Walker invasion. Too bad, Littlefinger

Dany dead. Shireen dead. Iron Throne melted by dragon fire.

Seven Kingdoms divided--an idea pitched by Tyrion to Mace Tyrell and the other surviving high lords.

For the love of The Gods, don't forget The Seven!

It sounds like a Holy War in King's Landing is right around the corner. The High Sparrow with his Poor Fellows and Warrior's Sons is best set to capitalize on the madness that the city will be thrown into with the fresh death of the King Regent. If the High Sparrow is not sitting on the Iron Throne next (could see him being "too humble" to sit there himself), it will be a puppet of his.

Tommen (with Mace as Regent now that kevan is dead), and Myrcella (with Cersei as regent and Jaime as Hand).. after that no one else. Cersei will destroy King´s Landing with Wildfire..

Hmm... it seems somewhat plausible, given that Jaime never got around to remove all that hidden Wildfire (and that its potency and instability increases with age), but I think the Iron Throne's symbolic value as the power seat of Westeros will keep King's Landing intact until the end of the series. People are fighting for control of the throne, and it would make little sense for Martin to remove the throne (and the city around it) before all the important events have played out. And before then, I think he'd want to let a few more characters be in power.

That being said, though, I can see the series end with the Wildfire Plot coming to fruition, and King's Landing, the Red Keep and the Iron Throne being destroyed once and for all. King's Landing is a relatively young city, it was founded when the Targaryens landed (hence the name), and it would be fitting that it would vanish with the last Targaryen (Daenerys' dragons accidentally setting it off, perhaps?). The end of an era and all that. After that the Seven Kingdoms would be seven kingdoms once again, realm-wide politics and all the rot it brought with it would be history, and everybody would get the independence they've sought to increasing degree (so far in the series, we've seen four of the seven kingdoms express desire for it, be it through war, isolationism or just scheming).

It would be the perfect bittersweet ending, like Martin has promised us already.

A few people have already sat the throne. I don't see any reason GRRM meant that a lot more would become king. Tommen won't last long because of the Maggy prophecy, but the very next throne sitter might just be the last.

My money's on Jon.

If I remember correctly, he said this while Joffrey was still alive, during the S3 Emmy panel. So Tommen is already one of the few, and fAegon is looking like a likely second candidate. After that, I think it's impossible to speculate. GRRM could take the story anywhere :)

-Stannis: he'll take it from Mace, and it's rightfully his after Tommen & Myrcella die

Really, it's rightfully his, even before Tommen & Myrcella die LOL
