ASOIAF-inspired Music

I'm a huge music fan and metalhead, and I was hoping some of you folks might be able to turn me on to any great music out there inspired by the series (especially heavy metal, but any music is more than welcome and appreciated)! I know one of my favorite bands, The Sword, has a track entitled "To Take the Black", which I first heard before I had read the series and later had a serious mind-blow moment when I realized what it was about. Anyway, rock on all! \m/ :cool4: \m/

Actually, they have a couple of songs related to ASoIaF.

"Winter's Wolves" is also a reference and "Mother, Maiden and the Crone".

You might also like Seven Kingdoms.

Blind Guardian: War of the Thrones

They also have two songs (Wheel of Time, Ride Into Obsession) about the Wheel of Time series and a whole album (Nightfall in Middle-Earth) about LotR.

Also, although the song I linked isn't exactly "metal" Blind Guardian is definitely a Power Metal band worth trying out. I myself started listening to them through the WoT songs.

Don't forget "A Twist in the Myth". That album's songs are also based on literature - like "Otherland" by Tad Williams.

Didn't know about "A Twist in the Myth" and just found out (Around 5 minutes ago) that Otherland is a book series while reading a list of "Best Fantasy Books".

I strongly recommend "Otherland" to you - if you are into sci-fi.

Okay, discussing "Otherland" would be better in the 'Literature' sub-forum.
