If there is anything this topic proves is that regardless of what he does, GRRM will disappoint 30-40% of his audience. AFFC ADWD is a tough one for me because on one hand it is not as good as the first 3 books on a consistent basis. There was a lot of material that dragged on and seemed unneccesary. On the other hand, there are elements of this book that are some of my favorite in the series, including every Theon and Davos chapter.
