Dany is going to conquer most of known Essos

The thing is we have already seen that it is impossible to hold Slaver's Bay without also defeating its client cities. Qarth, Volantis, New Ghis, and Vaes Dothrak are all complicit and are significantly disrupted by what she has done. They would need to be defeated as well.

Dany will probably create a blood bath for this to happen I think she will be taking heads, Fire and blood all that type of stuff. Will probably make Tywin look like a saint.

Illyrio seems rather dependent on the slave trade himself. He is probably not too happy with her.

Illyrio's an odd one. He's a slaver, but he speaks admiringly of Dany to Tyrion. And, after she made off with three of his ships and their contents.

I think the slave trade is just one of many commercial interests for him, rather than something he specialises in.

We know that he intended that Viserys or Dany should link up with Aegon and the Golden Company. Strange as It may seem, I think he's sincere in his backing for the Targaryens.

Conquering Essos? Seriously It's more difficult than conquering westeros if you noticed. Their people much more unpredictable, remember the valyrian empire needs many generations to conquered most of essos even with their dragons. They had a long period of wars with Ghis Empire before turn them into ashes.

Dragonlords had many dragons and Targaryen was far from the most powerful dragonlord that ever lived. Thinking Dany will have more power than dragonlord of old valyria is too naive for me.

I think the evidence suggests quite the opposite. However, he has to act sincere in backing the Targaryens because JonCon would ask why he didnot care about the last exiles. Illyrio hates the Targaryens, so he plotted their death by seemingly helping them and so not raising suspicions in JonCon or any other party who believes fAegon is real.

Going home: Dany and Tyrion will be returning to Westeros sometime in late TWOW.

Embracing her house words: She will be on a murderous rampage. She will set Westeros, and everyone on her way there, on fire.

If so, it's a remarkably convoluted plot. He could surely have just quietly disposed of Dany and Viserys when they were in Pentos.

The point being he wanted to use the real Targaryens in a futile war to weaken the Iron Throne for (f)Aegons invasion. I'm sure we are all in agreement the Golden Company never had a chance to take the Throne without other parties being involved. Why kill a pawn when you can sit it next to the to king and blow it up?

I disagree on Westeros. She will not be burning Westeros.

The murder of the last Targaryens would always draw attention. In fact, one of the first things JonCon asked should be what Illyrio was doing while Viserys and Dany were living as beggars and drifting away from here to there. His alibi would naturally be that he was safekeeping Aegon in his manse and the spies of the Usurper were always watching after the exiles. He could not have risked the boy’s fate etc. Once Aegon leaves the manse with JonCon, Illyrio brokered the deal with Drogo and invited them to his manse.

Instead of murdering them, it is better the lead them to a dead end where they have no chance of return and get themselves killed. There would be no doubt about the manner of their deaths in such a condition. JonCon or the others never suspected something was fishy about the death of Viserys. But we know that Tyrion figured out Illyrio specifically sent him to his death along with Dany.

And yes. The fAegon Conspiracy is a master piece, I'll give it to them.

I don’t think Illyrio/Varys expected Viserys to create instability with his would-be Dothraki screamers, let alone conquering the IT. They expected him to get himself killed and even if somehow he survived, they would not join his khalassar and march to Westeros with him. Of course some of the pawns (Trystan Rivers) might think like that but we know better than him.

The Dothraki have a terrible image in Westeros and bringing them to Westeros will bite Dany’s ass. Aegon needs a PR campaign and who can do that better than Varys? Relying on "slaving godless savages" is stupid. Instead, they need Westerosi forces and Dorne most of all.

No need to publicly murder them. Someone with Illyrio's power could just have them quietly disappear.

And why send a warning to Ser Jorah about the plan to assassinate Dany, if they wanted her dead? Why go to the trouble of negotiating a marriage pact with Khal Drogo? Why bother with years of planning, as Illyrio put it to Tyrion?

I don't pretend to know the answers, but I'm not convinced they intended

Viserys and Dany to die, when there were far easier ways of going about it.

They didn't send Jorah a warning. They sent him a pardon. Being an intelligent man he figured out from that that he had to act fast.

The Drogo marriage was to prevent Drogo from sacking Pentos. Dany was a gift.

I think that is what GRRM wants us to think. What could possibly be the cause of Illyrio not simply having them killed?

“If truth be told, I did not think Daenerys would survive for long amongst the horselords.”

“That did not stop you selling her to Khal Drogo …”

“Illyrio does not play cyvasse.”

No, thought the dwarf, he plays the game of thrones, and you and Griff and Duck are only pieces, to be moved where he will and sacrificed at need, just as he sacrificed Viserys.

It is quite clear that Illyrio sacrificed Dany and Viserys for fAegon because his claim is superior to them.

That's where the show differs from the books. Varys' warning to Ser Jorah was explicit.

That is Tyrion's opinion. But, it is not a fact.

We know that Illyrio urged Viserys to stay in Pentos. Also, the Golden Company were expecting to link up with a Khalasar.

I don't think we have enough information, at this stage, to know exactly what Varys' and Illyrio's plans are, and how they intersect with Doran's plans.
