ToTheWolves Posted July 2, 2014 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I know this has probably been asked but I mean I get why he did it "for the watch" ,but if anything I feel like with that stunt I feel he made things worst if not for the wall then for himself. He can't possibly think that there will be no repercussions for that stunt he pulled. Are the wildlings going to come to Jon's aid and rise up while jon is out of commission,does this mean it's going to turn into a crow vs crow(Jon's friends) vs wildlings type of deal at the wall? Kidding aside, the Queen does as Melisandre says and she won't be quite happy about Jon being hurt and possibly dying. Kevvy Posted July 3, 2014 Share Posted July 3, 2014 Well, again basing it on the idea of Caesars assassination, it seems there will be some sort of 'civil war' and if Jon is to be considered Caesar then I guess either Tormund will be his Mark Antony and attack those responsible with the help of the NW loyal to Jon.Edit: just noticed (and a bone to the R+L=J supporters) that Antony held up Caesars blood stained toga to ignite the crowd - if Jons cloak is bloodstained it's red on black - targ symbolism ooooh. Lol! that's exactly what it looks like.I'm on the side of believing jon isn't dead(at least not for good), but however jon survives or is revived Bowen marsh & co reactions will be priceless. I don't think he has a plan to get out of his current situation. Bowen Marsh was worried about what the Lannisters would think of Jon's decisions, and that the NW needed to pick the 'winning side'. 2. Bowen Marsh disagreed with Jon on just about everything he did, even going so far as to call it treason when Jon let the Wildlings through the gate. 3. Cersei planned on sending people to Castle Black to take care of Jon - "Daggers instead of declarations", as she put it. 4. Bowen Marsh was crying when he stabbed Jon. Honestly, I think this was Cersei's scheme come to fruition. Cersei may not have sent her men to kill Jon, but that doesn't mean letters couldn't have been sent. He didn't really want to do it, but he felt he had no choice. There are several compelling reasons why this could be so: 1. Jon is dead, and therefore, all of Ned Starks' sons (to her knowledge) 2. The Night's Watch is weakened and can no longer help Stannis 3. Stannis' Queen and daughter are in danger if the NW and the Wildlings start fighting each other It's basically taking out two birds with one stone...it's just my guess, though. You can't expect people to follow you blindly every time. It's sad, because I truly feel Jon was doing what was best for the Watch. Forsaking neutrality is tough, but it was clearly the only option. There is only one way for the Others to cross the Wall without burning Jon as a leadership figure. And that's while he was taken out of action by betrayal. I think Bowen Marsh's plan was for him and Night's Watch to avoid being made into cloaks, and let the Queen's Men and Wildings decide on their own if they want to fight Ramsay on one side of the wall or the Others on the other side.
