Lady Visenya
Hi All :) I was wondering if anybody has a copy of the 2011 Harper Voyager White Reprint editions of aGoT and aCoK they would like to sell or knows where i can get a copy from? Have managed to get my hands on aSoS and aFfC but havent had any luck with the first two Here is a photo of the books in question: http://betweentwobooks.blogspot.com.au/2011/10/harper-voyager-to-reissue-song-of-ice.html Any help would be appreciated Thankyou
becca69
Those books are very difficult to find. Like the blue UK slipcased editions, these only had a run of 3000 copies (at least AGOT did) and they weren't reprinted. I contacted Harper Voyager about them and that's what they told me. I found my AGOT on Ebay and the rest I purchased new. You just have to search all the used book sites like Abebooks, Ebay, etc. or sometimes used bookstores like Half Price Books. Lady Visenya
Thanks for your reply becca Yes I know, infact they are harder to find than the blue slipcase versions. I completed my slipcase collection, then decided to collect the white reprints as I think they look awesome, and have been searching for them for the past 2 months with no result. Thought id try posting on here to see if anyone has any they don't want! Guess ill just have to keep searching and hope they pop up somewhere haha cheers :)

I searched by isbn on ebay and found at least 10 for under $40, you think these are actually the under 3000 print run version you are talking about? seams very cheap for such a limited GRRM book. becca69
It's hard to say if they are the same edition... sometimes they show the white cover but send a different edition. I do see AGOT right now on Bookdepository.com. They are usually pretty reliable. It hasn't been on their site for a long time. They may have gotten some overstock. That could also be the reason some have popped up on Ebay?? If you need it, I would order it ASAP. Probably won't be there for too long.
Glodowski125
Thanks, I just bought it. Are they a first print with full number line or are they like the American bantam edition where they all look different but are still considered the same edition, just later prints? becca69
The white reprint edition only had one printing as far as I know (per the publisher). If that listing is correct, you should receive the white reprint edition from 2011.
becca69
Oh and they are like the blue slipcased editions with a "1" on the copyright page.
Glodowski125
Very cool, I'll have to stock up on them, maybe they'll get popular and start going up like the blue ones. I don't think they'll ever get as popular as the slipcase ones though, they just don't look as cool.
becca69
They actually look really nice together as a set... http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/becca3969/ASOIAF_GRRM%20Collection/pops1.jpg I also just picked up the rest of the Spanish Gigamesh editions that were published at the same time. If you can find them, they are beautiful. They are like limited editions - full color illustrations, ribbon markers, full color pictorial boards with translucent dust jackets. Lady Visenya
I think the new white reprints are actually a second print run, either that or they found heaps that hadent been distributed yet because all of them were for sale all of a sudden! let me know Glodowski! I've been looking at the gigamesh editions too becca, they're beautiful! Which site did you buy yours off of? I found one but it's all in Spanish haha (thank god for Google translate) the art in them is amazing!
Glodowski125
when i searched gigamesh i got two different looking sets. One very illustrated the other just white and abstract jacket art. which ones are you referring too?
Lady Visenya
The ones with the purple and white covers, like this one:http://www.estudioenescarlata.com/fichalibro.php?id=978-84-96208-49-0 are the ones were talking about. In google images it also show the art that is on the pictorial boards as well (Jon snow and Ghost for a game of thrones) http://www.laespadaenlatinta.com/2011/01/reimpresion-de-cancion-de-hielo-y-fuego.html < That's a photo of the first 4 books covers If you search the Spanish translation of the title your looking for then gigamesh after it will come up in google images with the cover and the art (ie Juego De Tronos gigamesh for Game of Thrones) :)

becca69
Yes, those are the ones. I got a signed copy of ADWD and I just recently found the other 4 on Abebooks from Spain. I haven't had much luck contacting overseas bookstores - they all seem to have the PB editions. The pictorial boards show thru the white translucent dust jackets. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/becca3969/ASOIAF_GRRM%20Collection/9FC721FA-1596-459A-BD15-A7B03BCB7C6C.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/becca3969/ASOIAF_GRRM%20Collection/C58B3B16-E428-49D2-8EE3-8CC18A4D3478.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/becca3969/ASOIAF_GRRM%20Collection/B6AD6260-238F-44DB-9AF3-9A454833595E.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/becca3969/ASOIAF_GRRM%20Collection/5626AE8F-C8C4-483A-9546-1AAB1078C6E2.jpg
Casso, King of the Seals
Do you think they will publish the Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring in this style (with a white cover)? They certainly could, because they changed the cover when A Dance with Dragons came out, and with it they published all the previous books in the series. Would they change the cover again? What is your opinion?
Lady Visenya
yeah i found a Spanish bookstore that ships internationally, it says hardcover and also has the PB. Not bad really, $350 for all 5 including shipping. Do you think they will publish the Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring in this style (with a white cover)? They certainly could, because they changed the cover when A Dance with Dragons came out, and with it they published all the previous books in the series. Would they change the cover again? What is your opinion? They might, They might not! They might change the cover and republish the previous books. They are probably going to change it, given the previous two books have completely different covers but you cant really say until the covers revealed.I really wished they stuck to the original covers with the steven youll art! In a perfect world they would change the cover back to a stephen youll one and publish aDwD & aFfC with one aswell haha :)
becca69
I got 1-4 for less than $300 with shipping so we probably paid about the same... I got my signed ADWD copy for $20, so that helps.

I would say it would be more likely they would do them in the white covers if the books were going to be published anytime soon ;) As that is probably not the case, I bet we will see a whole new edition and new art. Because they can and will.
