Cobalt86
What is the role of Patches, Stannis's court fool and Shireen's friend?I find him very interesting, especially his songs.I bet he has some big role to play till the end. Melisandras vision about Patches is intriguing:That creature is dangerous. Many a time I have glimpsed him in my flames. Sometimes there are skulls about him, and his lips are red with blood. Syrio.Forel
I took "his lips are red with blood" as the riddles he speaks are deadly. Kind of like Dany's visions in the House of the Undying, Patchface speaks riddles to the same extent...
the_lord_of_the_light
Below is a quote from Patchface, that is generally seen as a prediction of the red wedding. There is a thread on these forum's dedicated to solving the remainder of his riddles. "Fool's blood, king's blood, blood on the maiden's thigh, but chains for the guests and chains for the bridegroom, aye aye aye."

Jay21
He makes a few statements that seem to be predictions. It's interesting that he might well have been dead during his stay under the sea. Before Jon's death in DWD he offers to lead the ranging "under the sea and back" (not a direct quote). Jon assumes that command but is killed before they go. If Patchface was dead under the sea, perhaps his statement about the ranging was a forecast of Jon's death and presumable resurrection by some means in the book to follow.
