And if he really had a lion's share in it's capture does it mean everything varys said about him is true? Was jon con in a fighting condition? Golden Compamy shows up at storms end attacks the force Tyrells left behind under M.Rowan the men inside SE see this an open the gates thinking they are the troops stannis hired but are taken unawares by aegon .i don't see any other way of storms end being taken . Lord Varys Posted July 16, 2014 Share Posted July 16, 2014 I expect a surprise attack on the Tyrell sieges forces under Rowan (who will later declare for Aegon VI after meeting him in person). Afterwards the Golden Company will claim that it has been hired by Stannis, and some of the Stormlords whose castles have been taken by the Golden Company will confirm the story. Once the gate is opened, the Golden Company will take the castle. Afterwards, the garrison will either yield to Aegon, or (some of) the men will be killed. My guess is that the Queen's Men among the garrison will go down fighting. GRRM has indeed said that the Battle at Storm's End will be covered by a POV. We don't know, but I also imagine it was through trickery, not straight-up assault. Big factor in this theory is that Storm's End is currently held by Stannis and besieged by the Tyrells' army. Another army appears (the GC), and perhaps after it drives off the besiegers, they welcome it with open arms (well, open gates), perhaps believing Stannis has hired the GC to save them. Needless to say, who would expect an invading force that is neither from the Iron Throne, nor Stannis ? Certainly not people who've been penned up within its walls for over a year, with little word from the outside world. (Which may bring us to the next potential siege of Storm's End ... does the phrase "I am the storm - the first storm and the last" ring a bell? :drunk: ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They also have no intention of supporting the Lannisters ever. Edric is the natural heir of SE with Stannis and Shireen believed dead, and Aegon is the one in a position to make it so.
