Wmarshal
Think about, is willing to assault smallfolk, has a thing for West girls, and not bad looking on a horse. Is Robb the son Tywin wanted?

Flackbish
The only son Tywin would have been happy with is a copy of himself. Willing to do everthing to keep the Lannisters where he himself brought them. Everything else would have been a huge disappointment, even if it would have been Robb. Robb married Jeyne. Cat thought it was a bad mistake to brake his vows to walder. BUT she never critisised Robb harsh. She told him what she thought about it (we all know now that she had good reason). Imagine how Tywin would have reacted if Robb was his son.

If Robb was Tywin's father, Jeyne Westerling would get a "hunting accident" in a second. If she's lucky.

If Robb was Tywin's father, Jeyne Westerling would get a "hunting accident" in a second. If she's lucky. I would also bet on the "hunting accident". But I don't think Tywin sen. would see Tywin jun. as a rival. When reading about Tywin he allways seems to prepare the Family for the "Post-Tywin-Time". For he knows he will not live endless. I felt the anger for Jaime for joining the KG increased more and more (Jaime would be an accaptable heir in his eyes). He is afraid the Lannisters lose rep and respect like they did under Tytos. So I guess Tywin jun. would be the perfect heir for him.
TheNinjaDC
I always seen it as ironic the children he wanted were on the other side. Robb, the valiant Young Wolf tactician, who started a war for the love of his father. Sansa, the perfect courtly lady that can remain polite under even the worse circumstances. fuem
Early on Jamie would have been a son ''Tywin'' would have been proud ofKingsguard etc but later on..
Pod The Impaler
I think Robb was too honourable for the likes of Tywin. He'd prefer a son capable of winning, but also adept at treachery (and not offended by rape). So what Tywin wants - if not Tyrion's head on Jaime's body - is probably Littlefinger's mind in Gregor Clegane's body. Now, if we have anyone who'd have been glad to have Robb as a son instead of his own, it would have been King Robert. Brave, dashing lad who's a natural warrior and leader ? Versus Joffrey, a spoiled, craven, malicious wuss.

Slender Aimry Hill
This topic makes me think of Shakespeare Henry IV pt 1, when the King wishes his son could be Hotspur (a very Robbesque figure). Be careful what you wish for...
Blackfyre Gateau
This topic makes me think of Shakespeare Henry IV pt 1, when the King wishes his son could be Hotspur (a very Robbesque figure). Be careful what you wish for... Makes me think of King Robert musing about Ser Loras in AGOT with Ned: Robert: "Have you seen Mace Tyrell’s boy? The Knight of Flowers, they call him. Now there’s a son any man would be proud to own to. Last tourney, he dumped the Kingslayer on his golden rump, you ought to have seen the look on Cersei’s face. I laughed till my sides hurt." dbunting
Actually Jaime would be the son he wants, minus the incest. He is good looking, brave, excellent swordsman, a feared knight. If only there wasn't that one minor issue...
Gar Weg Wun Sygerrik
Tywin would only he satisfied with someone as ruthless as himself, but at the same time absolutely obedient to him. Just never going to happen. I don't think Tywin would ever have a moment where he was satisfied that his son had surpassed him.

l2 0 5 5
I don't think he would be displeased with Robb. Tywin is a hard man to please so it would be difficult to make him proud, I think, but it would be hard to find many better than Robb.

Bright Blue Eyes
No. Too much honor, not enough ruthlessness. But I don't think Tywin sen. would see Tywin jun. as a rival. So I guess Tywin jun. would be the perfect heir for him.Hardly. He's always working like he'd live forever, basing the survival of House Lannister on his personal reputation. Actually Jaime would be the son he wants, minus the incest. He is good looking, brave, excellent swordsman, a feared knight. If only there wasn't that one minor issue...And the honor, as well as the lack of ruthlessness. Or brains.
No Song so Sweet
Tywin would not have a son like Robb because Robb did all he did because he loved his father. And Tywin's son wouldn't love him. Also Tywin has the son he always wanted and its Jamie. He would want Jamie not to be in the kinsguard though and not to be a kingslayer and commiting incest, but being the heir to Casterly Rock. The Wolf Lord's Daughter
No. Remember Jaime's dream. Tywin wanted his son to be a great knight. to be strong and beautiful. Jaime with Tyrion's intelligence would probably have satisfied him enough. Problem is, I'm not entirely sure he would have been satisfied with any type of son, other than a complete replica of himself, like the way Cersei couldn't really have been satisfied with any husband.
