Werthead
Latest trailer. Looks promising, although my hopes for a less-Jedi centric version of the Star Wars universe seem to have been dashed. Also not sure about the female Boba Fett idea. Still, cool to see original TIE Fighters and Star Destroyers roaming around.
Calibandar
Yeah it looks similar to Clone Wars. I still need to pick the best episodes of season 5 and 6 of CW, and watch them. Would probably do the same here, pick and choose. Not sure who the boy is supposed to be?

It does look good, but I share you disappointment in the Jedi centric view. Really cheapens the entire aspect of Luke being the first of the Jedi. Leofric
This takes place just after Revenge of the Sith, so are we going to see these last Jedi characters hunted down and killed by the shiny new Darth Vader, thereby leaving Luke to become the New Hope? Or is that too dark?
Gronzag
So, did anyone watch these first few episodes? I must admit i am pleasantly surprised with the quality of the show. Not as cheesy/goofy/infantile as i feared it might turn out to be, although not as dark as some CW episodes (which is fine by me) . Main characters are also OK, no one stands out just yet but at least i'm pretty sure that none of the (inevitable) solo episodes will be as dull as those from the previous show starring Jar-Jar and R2/C3PO
Kalbear
I watched some of it. It's much lighter in humor while being still adult; it doesn't have the annoying Asoka like character, for instance. The shot-by-shot remakes of the original movies are either awesome or lame; I've not decided which.
Gus
I saw the pilot. It looked promising. I hope it will be much more small scale and on a more personal level. Less saving the Galaxy and more surviving underground.
Jaxom 1974
I missed it. Though I'm certain it's going to be on ninety times in the next week.

Ahsoka annoyed me as well but only at the beginning. As the series progressed she matured and really grew on me which is a big compliment for a kids TV show, i think. Jon AS
I was pleasantly surprised by this. I thought the beginning was the weakest part, it got stronger as it went along and it was surprisingly brutal (compared to, say, Avatar, where violence was kept non-lethal for the most part). I hope it mostly deals with small-scale conflicts, the Rebel Alliance won its first major victory only shortly before the first film, after all.And of course the jedi and his soon-to-be apprentice totally have to die before the series is over, else it's an abomination against movie canon.:P
Myrddin
Has it been revealed exactly when in the timeline this show takes place? How many years post-Order 66? ETA: Google works! 5 Years before New Hope. So, Ashoka would be what, 30-ish? Because we know she's going to show up at some point.
denstorebog
"In a time of darkness, when fear ruled the galaxy, heroes will rise." Um, what? That seems out of tense to me. From the pink Mandalorian who uses graffitti as a weapon, to the wunderkind who does amazing hoverbike stuntss, this looks absolutely crap, fully on par with the prequels. If this is the first result of the Disney acquisition, we're looking at a truly bleak future for the SW universe.
Trebla
I thought it was decent. I was also pretty surprised at the amount death and carnage. I'll keep watching.
underarmsauce
Disney announced they are running a special extended edition of this Spark of Rebellion on October 26 and that Vader will be included in it. I honestly want to see how this show handles Vader, and am excited about the prospect of seeing him so early, but at the same I am worried they are already throwing in too many classic character appearances so early before the main characters can develop. Already we have seen C-3po and R2-D2 in the second episode and a Vader appearance in the first month of the show. Lando has been confirmed to appear as well this season. I agree with you, they're introducting too many big characters too early, who can we expect next?, Han and Chewie?, Yoda?,Palpatine?.
SkynJay
This is exactly what I am afraid of. The galaxy should be HUGE, why do the same six characters and three planets have to show up all the time?

underarmsauce
The latest episode is exactly the quality I hope this series can obtain on a consistent basis and you learn about the fate of a clone wars jedi and how Palpatine dealt with some surviving Jedi. By far the best episode of the series short life so far. Dark in tone, but has positive undertones. Also this interview with the main show runner whom also worked closely with Lucas on the Clone Wars is very telling in interesting ways. A major hint at an appearence of Ashoka and a hint at how she would perceive the whole Vader/anakin scenario. http://m.ign.com/articles/2014/10/28/star-wars-rebels-dave-filoni-on-the-luminara-twist-in-rise-of-the-old-masters

Kalbear
This ep was quite decent, and the inquisitor's cockiness and unstoppability is pretty awesome. So far it's good for kids and adults without being too cloying and has significantly more enjoyable characters than Clone Wars did.
