TWoW Prologue Info

I go away for a couple days on a mini-vacation and come back to this. I saw the Prologue and Jeyne info and had to blink a few times.

I was thinking about the Prologue awhile ago, and really, this piece of information would have been my last guess or one of them.

You really never know what GRRM is concocting.

wishful thinking/what I would like to see - We get a bit more information regarding Robb and how she cared for him. Really, the great lord, great husband he was to her and serves two purposes:

Parallels the duplicity of her mother Sybell, what she did to Robb whom she loved, and how she basically stepped in to ruin her daughter's life because she loved Robb. So basically, comparing how wonderful Robb was to her and how he was willing to make sacrifices that cost him to marry her, and how her actual blood (her mother, Sybell,) screwed her, her husband, and now look at the problems she caused her own children, especially her missing presumed dead son.

And then it would be the perfect time to get interrupted by the BWB, and Jeyne is shocked as shit when she sees her former mother in law, Lady Stoneheart. And in that instant she does ponder Robb, Gray Wind, etc…So terribly sad.

Also, it is bringing up the subject of Robb Stark again and with the will and Jon, the revenge people are still hoping for with still living characters regarding what happened to him at the Red Wedding. So it would be a Prologue and a new reminder/entrance back into the new book, when Robb has been dead for 3.

Imagine LS seeing her former daughter in law and thinking of Robb?

Holy Cow! I would die if that happened.

Maybe the Prologue or maybe later, but I think what Sybell did to Rob and her daughter, escalates. Jeyne might be involved. It is not enough that Jaime tells Sybell that she makes him sick to his stomach. More comeuppance in store for her, I think. Not just what is going on withh er her only son missing. I think Jeyne won't let it drop, others won't either and she will be viewed as a traitor, dishonorable, and basically damaged goods. Word will spread even more so. But I always wondered what Gawan her husband thinks and how he reacts later when he gets the full 411 on what his wife Sybell did and how much trouble she caused to his children, too. Really, his family, House, rep, etc.

Blackfish making an appearance would be great too. Just don't die. And I don't think he will anyway.

I don't know if it was mentioned but Jeyne was not going to Casterly Rock she was going to the Crag to be with her father. She is with Forley Prester who is escorting her he has been in 4 books. Her brother Raynald jumped into the river during the Red Wedding after freeing Grey Wind and is presumed dead but nobody ever found his body.

My bet is on Forley Prester as a contender for the Prologue P.O.V. He's minor, but he's been established in previous books as a solid commander (he saved and led Jaime Lannister's old host after the Whispering Wood) and one of House Lannister's best man-at-arms. He is in a commanding position of the escort of Jeyne, Edmure and co. to the West and would provide some interesting perspective as a Westerman.

You know, between this, Indira Varma's cartoon accent, Jaime being a rapist, the stupid character design of the CotF, the entire character of Shae, and what they did to the Thenns, I think I might be done with the show. It's just too stressful people.

:lmao: So true. I was often legitimately stressed while watching the show this season.

I just realized...

There goes my Wylla theory. :/

Don't let it go yet!

Wylla, I believe, knows somewhat about what went on with Rhaegar and Lyanna, and Ned and Howland and Arthur and the rest at TOJ. She nursed Jon and travelled with Ned, and knows who Jon Snow really is. Whether ASOIAF, Downton Abbey, or most literature in a certain vein, there are always those loyal servants that know EVERYTHING. Whether they are around to see it, or are so close to the people they serve they are as good as family or close friends and are burdened or trusted with it, however you look at it.

I also think she knows what happened to Ashara Dayne as she was in her service.

Wylla is my biggest candidate for WOW epilogue or DOS prologue.

Using Jeyne Westerling as the POV would kill two birds with one stone - it'd serve as an awesome prologue that could shed light on stuff in the Riverlands, West, Jaime/Brienne, Lady Stonethroat, anything, and it will kill her off, thereby syncing her up with the show-wife of Robb.

And that might be Sybell Spicer's fate. She made her choices and she loses all her family. She tried to rise herself through her kids, and ends up with no progeny.

It becomes an all for nothing scenario.

It is Cersei's worst nightmare, and it would be build up to what we believe is going to happen to her as an earlier parallel.

Everyone seems to be glossing over the fact that it could be Roslin Frey as the POV.

Because Roslin is at the Twins, nowhere near Jeyne Westerling.

After Martin has repeatedly cited Jeyne being alive as one of the ways the show is different from the books, killing Jeyne in a prologue chapter without her having done anything else would make him look like a fool.

While it's possible I don't think we're going to see Ironmen in the Westerlands as suggested upthread. Since we know that Jeyne is on the way to Casterly Rock with Edmure in the custody of Forley Prester that would be the most likely scene. Sincecwe should be ecpecting Brynden Tully to attempt to rescue his nephew and liege lord, and since they conferred the night they parted, I'd expect an attack led by the Blackfish to be the principal subject of the prologue. Since Tom Sevenstreams likely conferred with Edmure and Brynden, I'm guessing that the Blackfish knows where he can find a few good men. Since we haven't heard from Edric Dayne, Greenbeard and the huntsman in a while, I'm guessing those will be the good men. And I have a suspicion that Forely's detachmentvhas been worndown by huge wolfpack led by a ferocious, giant she-wolf.

Count me as optimistic, but I see no point in killing Jeyne. If anything, I might bet she'll outlive most of our main characters.
