Good stuff that's happening to you (YES YOU!)

So here's a thread to celebrate, modestly I hope, things that are going well in your life.

Today I had a great time at my ultimate frisbee summer league tournament. We underperformed on the field, but partied hard.

This week I'm hoping to hear about a new job transition. Let's keep fingers crossed.

I wanted to go find a trail in the Oquirrh Mountains with the family, so we drove out there. We didn't find the trail, but the road there (Butterfield Canyon Road) kept on going and turned into this narrow mountain side pass (like something out of a movie, complete with sudden hundreds-of-feet drop-off from the edge of the road) with some absolutely spectacular views of Butterfield Canyon and the forest-y area there. We eventually found a point and turned around after stopping to take pictures, but I would have loved to have kept on going. You can follow it to a juncture, and then take another road down through Middle Canyon into Tooele.

Many good things are happening to me, the one that I want to tell you about is that after five years of arduous work (as a bus driver) I'm going to give higher education another try - I've been accepted to study finance, and it will start in a few weeks. Yay for a new start!

Good luck to you all in your endeavors!

I'm regularly keeping on top of house work and every day chores and not letting my low moods take over my life.

You are so Good!! That is hard, but brilliant!

My husband found a mole on my shoulder, I went to the doctor and it was removed, it was a melanoma, but we got it in time!! I have seen a Dermatologist, the rest of my moles are all OK.

Now I have cream for some dry spots on my cheekbones , which seems to be working, and then 3 monthly check ups from the GP.

I'm really lucky he spotted it so soon! (And that I gave up trying to get a tan at age 16)

I have been granted permission to take the next step in my journey of becoming an official pinko Eurocommie liberal.

Good news! To facilitate this epic journey all that remains is the symbolic shedding of your capitalist ways. I'll pm you my paypal details to facilitate this. :)

Re my good stuff, things are so far going well with the girl I'm seeing.

I started my career twelve years ago on a rotating schedule of every other weekend, then transitioned to a new job and have worked almost every Saturday for the last three years. I found out last week that I'm being promoted to a permanent Monday-Friday position with no more weekends ever unless I volunteer :D

I've been very, very lucky in my life. I'm studying (and doing pretty well, if I do say so myself) at one of the top schools in the world in my field, and getting my wish of living overseas in the process. I've made friends from all over the world, learned a lot and gotten to do some work with UN agencies (fingers crossed for more on that front), and next week I'm going to Morocco! So lucky it's almost scary, I keep waiting for the other penny to drop, but so far so good.

I've been revising for 5 hrs for my next exam; i have a TERRIBLE attention span (though, it's strangely good in lectures where I like to take copious amounts of notes) but usually I just can't revise, I can't bring myself to sit down and revise, so even though I've been taking little 5-10 minute breaks to do other things, I'm super proud of myself right now (even though I'm doing what all students should do normally, so it's nothing special i'm usually just crap) and 5 hours later have some very good notes and a better understanding of what the hell i'm going to write about next Wednesday.

I find revision the hardest part as well, much easier for me to plough through new subjects than to do old ones again. I'm mostly guilty of thinking 'yeah, i know this crap' when I don't know it. Good Luck!

Re my good stuff, I've started running again after far too long of a break.
