[Spoilers ADwD] Kingsmoot Pink Letter

Let me just pose a simpler query, do you think Asha will challenge the kingsmoot now that she is with Theon? Theon is the rightful heir to the Iron Islands and he wasn't at the kingsmoot to have a chance to be considered and make his Claim. Asha rea;ized this and it seems to be part of the reason she decided to flee deepwood motte at the last second.

We know Aeron will be a pov in WoW.

Several things would have to happen, at least while she's with Stannis it seems unlikely, but that's why I thought perhaps Ser Justin Masey will aid her, as he is reluctant about the march to winterfell and has been courting Asha.

A lot of talk about the pink letter I know. Im new to these speculation. My gut tells me that GRRM doesnt do such obvious deceptions such as false letters, the surprises GRRM gives us are usually less deliberate and subtly crafted, no?

Has anyone thought about a connection between Asha and Theon and the letter. We know that Asha wants to use Theon to challenge the kingsmoot, she thought of that when fleeing deepwood, remember? So now, conveniently she has been reunited with Theon. Many already suspect Theon being a contributor to the pink letter, so couldnt Asha's plan to challenge the kingsmoot using Theon play into the pink letter?

Since i dont think GRRM is so obvious as to make up everything in the letter, I propose Stannis was indeed defeated (that army was in terrible shape, It is nearly impossible to imagine them winning unless Manderly went over). And knowing that Stannis would fall, the ironbanker has joined Asha (knowing that the greyjoys have become serious conteners for the iron throne). Asha took advantage of the knight that was guarding her (Justin something? Massey?), who is obviously into her (a lot made of it throughout the march) and whom has also conveniently started to doubt the wisdom of the current march and the red god. So they escape with theon and the ironbanker and of course part of winning the iron throne is taking care of bolton, freys, and securing the north. Since house greyjoys fleet is so far away they would be incapable, but getting the nights watch to do it seems a solid plan (ironbanker has been there met with jon, NW is idebted to the iron bank).

So, the question would be how would either Asha, Ironbanker, or Theon know about mance... ?

To end this, I just wish to say that I don't think Jon Snow is that green boy anymore that would get upset by being called a Bastard. Tyrion taught him the lesson not to let that hurt him and when Jon fought
Mance/rattleshirt in the training yard i didnt have the impression at all that John lost his cool. Rattleshirt lost his cool and tried to kill Jon, and had to be detained, but Jon just shrugged it off and had him go on his way. As Jon later thought, better to face the stronger opponent in the yard before in the battlefield. This also brings up that Mance was pissed enough and hates Jon enough to really want to kill him in that fight, so perhaps he does have something more sinister in mind for Jon. But Jon is likely angry about the direct threat to his life that ramsay makes, not about being called Bastard. If Jon takes that letter at face value he doesnt really have a choice. Take the fight to Ramsay or let him come to the wall. Castle black really doesnt seem up to the task of defending against a host like bolton's from the south, so basically Jon must attack.

Wow.How can you cram so much wrongness into one post?

Better than having to read through 16 pages of posts to gather that much wrongness :/. But yeah, give me a break 90% of the posts here are ridiculous, but speculation is kind of part of the fun. At least I thought so...

Asha challenging the kingsmoot is going to come up at some point. Why waste so much effort about her relationship with Ser Justin if he wouldnt also play a role, albeit a minor one (like helping escape)

I think you may be on to something. Someone (possibly Rodrik the Reader) shared the story of Torgon Greyiron, who was away when his father died and none of his brothers sent word to him about the kingsmoot. When he returned, he rebelled against the brother chosen by the moot and took the Seastone Chair with the help of the priests of the Drowned God. Similarly, Theon was never informed of the kingsmoot that chose Euron and his uncle, the priest Damphair, opposes Euron.

Obviously, there will be some obstacles in Theon's way if he wants to follow Torgon's path, but I think there's evidence.

Note: Sorry for the weird quotes. Somehow that got messed up and I couldn't undo it.

Yeah, like she knew Theon was at Winterfell, like she knew Stannis was going to capture her at Deepwood Motte, like she knew he was going to Winterfell where she could reunite with Theon.

She is like a god.

Asha can't challenge the kingsmoot. She had her chance and was rejected. Her goal next book most likely will be to convince Theon to challenge it. She only needs to survive the battle, winter, save Theon from execution. Then convince him to do it and get him to the iron islands. Her plate is pretty full.

OK, if you want to be picky about my wording.... Theon is the one that would be challenging the kingsmoot, not Asha, Asha just is the one that thought of it (when she was fleeing deepwood) and she would help him to claim his birthright... obviously i know that Asha was at the kingsmoot and she herself doesnt have a claim.....

And im not saying she had some master plan of finding theon at winterfell... i didnt say that at all. As we know, Asha was planning on fighting and dying at deepwood until she started thinking about the past kingsmootthat Torgon successfully challenged (as Amorchius explains above) and it was then that she made the last minute decision to flee. Just as she thinks during that chapter several times, she has no place to go, no options but to live out her days as a pirate or on one of the useless half-abandoned islands. So her only hope is to assist Theon in claiming his birthright.

So now Asha has been reunited with Theon, and I really dont see it as a stretch of the imagination that escaping Stannis would be exceedingly difficult (especially considering Stannis may have already lost...?) Perhapsser Justin Massey will help them escape.
