On re-reading ADWD I stumbled upon the following description of the Golden Company 's spymaster, Lysono Maar: The spymaster was new to Griff, a Lyseni named Lysono Maar with lilac eyes and white-gold hair and with lips that would have been the envy of a whore. These are clearly the racial features of Valyria, and especially the Targaryens'. Do you think, this has any meaning? Lopsang Posted August 31, 2014 Share Posted August 31, 2014 The Lysene hail from old Valyria, so that isn't actually surprising. Most people from Lys would look like that.
