Dany and the north....

I am assuming that the northeners have already defeated boltons and stannis..(as in grand northern conspiracy) and have a KITN(jon/bran).

So one fine day dany comes riding on her dragons.....and to her surprise she finds that the northeners are pretty happy being ruled by a legendary stark....and have no interest in dragons and targs.......

So what do you think will happen in such a situation.....will there be a war......

dany is described as a person who loves her subjects...so will she wage a war and let thousands burn.....??...or will she turn back meekly tamed by the wolves.....

...a lot will depend on who comes first....dany and her dragons ...or Others.....( i assumed dany came first)....

I think your leaving an awful lot of stuff out here... what about the white walkers? I personally would be pretty fond of anyone who brought dragons to a ww fight. The Freys still need to be dealt with as well. The north cannot stay isolated.

I assumed dany came before white walkers.....if white walkers come first...then obviously its advantage dany and her dragons.....

And i mentioned that boltons and stannis have been dealt with.....

This Great Northern Conspiracy needs to get off the ground and out of the shadows if there is going to be any "the North" as opposed to a bunch of separate lords making their own decisions.

But my best guess is that Dany is not going to have a lot of time for solidifying her rule, as other issues will demand her time. In other words, if she comes to the North during the time of the story, it will be to fight the Others, and "the North" will see her in that context.

Bran will warg a dragon or Dany will realise that burning people isn't what she wants to do and isn't the way to get people on side. Or the north will bow to dragons or they'll negotiate with the Mad King's daughter to see if there's any madness and either bend the knee or agree to a peaceful alliance. Of course, she has to get north first and this isn't taking into account the rest of the realm or the Others.

What Dany's exact relationship with the North is going to be is hard to tell at this point. It depends on a lot factors that we don't know yet.

But, the idea that Dany could just walk over the North because of her Dragons is absurd. It's highly unlikely that Dany would be able to get a significant amount of ground forces into the North. Anybody that thinks so, needs to re-read those Asha Greyjoy chapters where Stannis tried to march his men from Deepwood Motte to Winterfell. And as the men from the mountain clans made clear, the weather conditions, during that march, were rather mild comparatively speaking.

It's approximately about 300 miles from the Neck to Winterfell. When you start thinking about realistic rates of march, food requirements for troops and horses, and the probable weather conditions, you start to realize the enormity of getting thousands of troops into the North during the Winter.

And none of this factors in Bran.
