they are facts> become history> become legend> become religion as it spreads across Westeros to Essos and back again over thousands of years.

The facts being the actual events of the long lived Jon and Brandon Snowbeard, sons of Eldric Snowbeard, descendant of the Cotf/ Fm marriage pact.

in particular

The red priest are fueled by vengeful Grumpkins the fire born cousins of the Cotf, who still seek to destroy the ice born Snarks in addition to the Cotf.

Magi are grumpkins + humans, Melisandre is such a person. Thoros of Myr being a weaker blood descendant of such people. R'hollor = Grumpkins

The Seven- Fueled by Cotf green dreams are meant to bring the Andals non-magic folk to cull the litter back home.(targs and starks)

the aspects are all human aspects that non-magic people can connect with. Seven= Cotf

as ive explained in my own post here.

old gods- Weirdwoods aka fate

AA is the Asshai'i version of the story of the Last Hero. AAR will be a new Last Hero. In fact, I think Azor Ahai is Asshai'i for Last Hero.

Whether AAR is TDtwP or not is a matter of debate. They certainly would not have to be the same person and it's more fun to have multiple heroes.

Azor Ahai=Jon Snow

The Pince that Was Promoised: Dany

The Last Hero: Bran

Tend to agree. Jon has a dream where he is wearing black armor made of ice (like someone Other folks) holding a red sword (lightbringer) defending The Wall. Aemon, probably the most knowledgeable character in the series, believes the ptwp is female and must be Daenerys. Bran seems to be in the unique position to be the LH.

It will be interesting to see how Melissandre reacts when she realizes that she erred in convoluting aa and the ptwp and that Jon/AA is not on the side of R'Hllor. Perhaps she will use a glamor to take the form of Ygritte to persuade him to take R'Hllor's side. Perhaps Jon will put that red sword through her heart and it will take flame...

Aemon believes TDtwP could be female. Not that it has to be. He's thinking Daenerys because 1) he doesn't know that Jon might be Rhaegar's and 2) he doesn't know that Aegon might be alive. If there were male candidates he was aware of, he might not have been so quick to remember that the Valyrian word for dragon is gender-neutral. On the other hand, she does have the dragons.

I've seen Benjen mentioned as a possible Last Hero. But given that AA is the LH story, wouldn't a new LH then be AAR?

I think that Azor Ahai is different from The Last Hero, but Azor Ahai reborn is possibly the same as the Prince who was Promised (and that Ice is Lightbringer). You can see this thread if you are interested:

1. Grrm is amazing and every sentence he writes is telling 2 or more stories, hes good that way.

2.Cotf live a long long time

3.Cotf/Fm marriage pact descendants do as well

4.Both legends are about defeating a supernatural darkness. and i know AA legends dont say anything about ice

5. A-) "the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world." Ice sure is mentioned in AA's reborn legend though

6. Ask yourself does AA-Reborn have nothing to do with AA ??..

7.+ B-)there is only 1 ever mention, or recorded, supernatural darkness, let alone one involving ice. = SEE

so its 2 possibilities. 1. they both are fake and all is lies. 2. they both are true and the same

Only Melisandre has connected cold and darkness for the Azor Ahai Reborn. Is this her own interpretation of R'hllor vs the Others? Is this a misunderstanding on Melisandre's part, as we've seen before? Seems tenuous to me. :)

I, for one, have believe that it will be one person, Jon Snow specifically. It never made any sense to me to have 3 different SAVIORS. It over complicates the storyline and would turn the whole novel into comic books with Westoros equivalent of Justice League of America fighting the evil forces of the Others.

I see a story where Jon fufills his destiny in the North by defeating the Others while Dany fufills her destiny in the South by winning back the Iron Throne. After that, it's one last Dance of the Dragons for all of Westoros.

Melisandre, more so than any other character, has an invested interest in connecting Azor Ahai Reborn with the current conflict with the Others -- not that she is wrong in this conclusion, but she has in her mind decided that this is a replay of the conflict of the original Azor Ahai and that it involved the Long Night. Thus we cannot trust that she is not just embelishing the story with the details she thinks fit (i.e., "the cold breath of darkness"). Many characters have dubious ideas about things, and many are accurate in their assumptions. You just have to compare notes wherever you can -- and Mel is often wrong. :)
