Marcus Agrippa
Do we have any proof that the white walkers actually come from this place? when a world of Ice and fire comes out I expect to get a few more hints but I doubt we will get a solid answer until the end of winds. The only thing I can remember is when Bran looks North of the Wall but he didn't go that far north.

The only thing I can remember is when Bran looks North of the Wall but even didn't go that far north. i think wherever they go, they bring winter. Winter is coming. if they were to assault kings landing, and win, kings landing would become, the land of always winter. they bring with them, an atmosphere. and darkness. Lady Blizzardborn
Do we have any proof that the white walkers actually come from this place? when a world of Ice and fire comes out I expect to get a few more hints but I doubt we will get a solid answer until the end of winds. The only thing I can remember is when Bran looks North of the Wall but he didn't go that far north. He did look into the Heart of Winter, which I think would probably be located in the Land of Always Winter. And even Bran, a kid who loves scary stories, was frightened by what he saw there. Don't know if the Others/WW come from there, but it does seem to fit with what little we know about them. I don't expect to learn a thing about TLoAW from TWoIaF. But I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised.
BearQueen87
I don't know if the Others come from the Land of Always Winter or if they've just been "relocated" there by necessity. The Wildlings are north of the wall, but don't go THAT far North. However, I really want to see what's happening in tLoAW. (besides winter, obviously) Didn't GRRM once say we'd be going farther north than ever in Winds?
ChildoftheTropicalForest
Doesn't the cold preceed the Others? I have been wanting to know more about them, their culture, language, inability to reproduce, etc. since the Prologue in GoT.

I really hope we get a heavy dose of Other myth and history in Winds. And I don't think it's known if the cold comes before the Others or if the Others come before the cold, but yes there is cold. ChildOfTheForest
The thing that im most curious about is the fantasy elements we will see in Loaw... I hope we are going to see another mysterious creatures from ice roaming this land, a strange land not similar to any earth like features.. And the most interesting thing is what the hell is the heart of winter and how it looks like... What do you think? Will we see any strange elements there? I hope so, i love high fantasy
Marcus Agrippa
Part of me wonders if its just an effect f the other i think wherever they go, they bring winter. Winter is coming. if they were to assault kings landing, and win, kings landing would become, the land of always winter. they bring with them, an atmosphere. and darkness.I would actually like that. It would fit them better being just magical creatures. But I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised.I expect to get a few myths at least. I want them to expand on bran the builder hopefully. Same. I really hope we get a heavy dose of Other myth and history in Winds. And I don't think it's known if the cold comes before the Others or if the Others come before the cold, but yes there is cold.I figure we will get most of it in winds. Still hoping we get some myths since AWOIAF is supppose to cover everything.

I can dream that AWOIAF will finish Old Nan's story about the Last Hero and the WW
Marcus Agrippa
I can dream that AWOIAF will finish Old Nan's story about the Last Hero and the WW That would awesome. Old Nan's idenity would also be nice. Symeon Starry eyes is a tale I am interested. He is the only character we don't have some sort of analogy to yet.
