According this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac_Index#mediaviewer/File:Big_Mac_index_50USD_2columns.png The Big Macs in Sweden do indeed seem to be a bit more expensive than in the USA, (5,9 vs 4,2 USD), though I don't know if that difference would cover the wage one.

What's wrong with that?

The customer pays more, the business makes more and the employees make more, who then turn around and spend more. A good cycle. And when you add the free healthcare and other benefits it beats paying less for the Big Mac, the employee making less and getting less in terms of healthcare and other benefits. In the latter scenario the only one who makes out is the business.
