Robb_Warged
I think she's going to pull through and win. She won't be Littlefinger's pawn. She won't be forced to marry anyone else ever again (unless she can use it in some sort of scheme that serves her and her family) I know Arya is the more popular Stark daughter, and certainly some of the things Sansa did in GOT/ACOK made it difficult for some to like Sansa, but over time I have found myself more emotionally concerned and invested in Sansa than any of the other Stark kids or really any other character in the series. I don't paticularly like reading her chapters once she leaves King's Landing (due to hating Littlefinger and the father/daughter stuff he puts Sansa through) but more than any other character in the series I'm rooting for her to pull through and do what's right In the Stark household, between the two daughters, Arya was always more of a tomboy aspiring for a life as a female warrior. Wouldn't it be a nice ironic twist if it's Sansa rather than the more physical Arya, that leads the rising (maybe not on the battle field) of the Stark sigil once again throughout the North, against House Bolton and other enemies of the Starks? Sandor was ready to give Robb his sword. I think he'd head for Sansa if he was aware she was in need of fighters I'd take a happy ending for Sansa over some sort of Robb appearance (undead, ghost, vision, dream, whatever) in book 6 or 7. That's saying a lot
John Doe
I hope Richon will have a part in it too, but since his direwolf is called shaggydog...
Robb_Warged
I hope Richon will have a part in it too, but since his direwolf is called shaggydog... I'd be fine with this. Tons of unrealistic things happen in ASOIAF. It's a fantasy series. I can swallow an 8 year old warrior. The Wild Wolf has my sword!

SacredOrderOfGreenMen
They've all got their roles to play. I'm a def believer in Sansa percipitating a revolt in the Vale. I can't find the link right now but someone made a good argument that Nestor Royce is about to betray Littlefinger because he has just hopelessly overplayed his hand. That will be Sansa's time to shine, and her role in Petyr's death will strongly mirror Petyr's role in Ned's, with Petyr dying in a similar fashion as Ned. They're are some really interesting speculations about Arya right now and her Nymeria parallels that I think have some serious way to them And based on narrative and literary parallels and his character arch, I'm a strong believer that Bran is coming back. And I also believe that the Skagosi will do exactly what the Mountain Clans are doing and go all in a for cannibal campaign for Rickon so they don't starve in winter. In short The Winds of Winter is going to be glorious with the Starks making their big returns.

I'm cool with the Younger Wolf too though. In short The Winds of Winter is going to be glorious with the Starks making their big returns.Agreed. Gregor Clegane's head
I certainly think Sansa will be the main leader but the others will play big roles too. Hopefully Arya stops trying so hard to become one of the FM.
Burning down the House
Sansa is the most likely choice but it could be Rickon or in his name.
Good Guy Garlan
Yep, it would be Sansa and Rickon, but Sansa being the oldest would have a bigger role I think Arya will play an indirect part by assassinating someone important, but I doubt she'll occupy the same political spotlight of her siblings
John Doe
Yeah it's a name I've seen tossed around for Rickon. I'm cool with the Younger Wolf too though. Younger Wolf is nice too. I hope Rickon will resemble the old Kings in the North more than Robb, though, and not get himself killed so fast.
Minuteman
Hopefully Arya stops trying so hard to become one of the FM. She already is a FM. She wore a face when she killed for the Many Face God and wears an acolytes robe in the temple so I think she's in. In fact if any other Stark should fall I would suspect it would be Arya because she is a FM but still keeps her list. She may have to answer to the kindly man for defying or cheating the MFG in the end - perhaps after everyone on her list is dead. I could see in the end the kindly man giving her her own name much as she did Jaqen Hghar. Valor margulis he would say to which she answers valor dohaeris as she slits her own throat. I just don't see how she will be able to go back to either the Starks or the FM. But then I don't own the trademark GRRM does. I would guess Sansa will rule until Rickon comes of age. There is still the dream Jon had wearing black ice armor defending the Wall with a red sword while shouting "I am the Lord of Winterfell" but that may mean nothing. Game of Thrones Reference
I don't think it's 100% set in stone since there are too many factors in play, i.e. Stannis, Manderly, Littlefinger, etc. But it is a very likely possibility.
John Doe
I don't see Bran or Arya being the Starks in Winterfell at the eind of the story. If anything, it will be Rickon or Sansa.
Bryanfury
Nope. I'm fairly certain Sansa will never set foot in the North again despite being crowned Queen of the North.
illrede
Look at it this way: Margaret Beaufort succeeded wildly, decisively, against great adversity, in circumstances Sansa might find some familiarity. But it was the triumph of House Tudor she is credited with. Sansa stands to do very well. But the only thing I'll agree to at this point is her doing very well for Sansa. Grail King
I'm sure Sansa will be the main Stark to bring back her house, less sure if she will return to or stay in Winterfell or the North.
ARYa_Nym
I don't see the irony. From AGoT Arya did not want to rule. She never said she wanted to be some warrior queen. So it wouldn't really be irony that the one who wanted to be in a leadership position got it over the one that didn't. Arya never really thinks on a macro level either at least not yet. She was someone who would rather kill people like the Tickler than Tywin who was more of enemy to House Stark so if other family members have something to do with the downfall of characters that have hurt the house more I don't think it would be ironic. Arya has expressed no interest in politics, political alliances, gaining an army even if that would help her family and possibly avenge them better than what she's doing now. She cares but not to the degree that she would do something she doesn't want to do or isn't interested in. I'm not sure why it's an Arya vs. Sansa thing either. Arya was last in line to inherit. She never was an option for restoring the house. Bran and Rickon make more sense. I don't think Sansa will be Rickon's regent. She is underage herself and will still be so in the next 2 books. There are no examples of another underage person being chosen as regent. She already is a FM. She wore a face when she killed for the Many Face God and wears an acolytes robe in the temple so I think she's in. In fact if any other Stark should fall I would suspect it would be Arya because she is a FM but still keeps her list. I just don't see how she will be able to go back to either the Starks or the FM. But then I don't own the trademark GRRM does. She's an acolyte. So when you had first introduced Arya, you knew she was going to become an assassin?Well she's not an assassin yet. You are assuming she is going to become one. She's an apprentice.http://observationdeck.io9.com/george-r-r-martin-the-complete-unedited-interview-886117845 Maybe they would kill her but I doubt she'd be able to slit her own throat and she doesn't think well of suicide. The Wild Wolf has my sword! Rickon is, and will be for many years, a political symbol and rallying point rather than a warrior - as the only trueborn son of Ned Stark, he has tremendous value to whoever wants to re-establish House Stark in the North. It would be foolhardy to let him run into battle, with or without Shaggydog (who cannot protect Rickon from arrows). Rickon is an angry six-year-old; he won't be in any position to make decisions of even a military nature for at least eight or nine years.

I could see Sansa being the main Stark to restore her house to the North, but possibly for Rickon (and Arya), not for herself; she might stay in the South, or die there.
