I imagine this has been discussed before, and I imagine as well that most of you would say R'hllor. Personally, I think the Old Gods are at least the most interesting; certainly, there is power to them, as we can see with Bran and Bloodraven. Besides that, I am interested to know to what extent the religions are paralleled by real life. Is there any historical basis for each religion? Is R'hllor supposed to be Catholicism? Game Of Thrones Posted September 1, 2014 Share Posted September 1, 2014 There is no god in Planetos.And GRRM has confirmed that the Seven are based partly on Catholicism, R'hllorism on Zoroastrianism, and the Old Gods on Druidism. A Bastard Snow Posted September 1, 2014 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Power lies where men think it lies?If your asking me what religion I would be it would be to the "Old Gods" of the north.Simply because I dont care for all the ceremony and quoting scripture and such.Just praying in front of a tree when I have the time is alot better then having to read the 7 pointed star and constantly have to show how faithful you are.
