Well no I thought it would be a creative thing. it wouldn't have to be just descriptive. I thought the creativity would be in making it sort of cryptic, the way Quaithe's or Maggy's prophesies are. It could be a condemning prophecy like that which Mirri Maz Duur says to Dany. I like that if we get to make the prophecies based on what we think will happen. That could make for an incredibly varied set of clues in each round, which I think would be quite awesome. I don't see why not. I wasn't going to put any restrictions on what kind of content. GRRM said they will not be physically appearing in the series, but he won't say whether or not they are real. He wants each reader to make up his or her own mind about that. Dolorous Gabe Posted September 21, 2014 Share Posted September 21, 2014 I always felt GRRM was fairly against having the kind of Greek mythology style of storytelling where the gods supposedly have some say in what happens, out of an observation that humans often create their own gods based on their own philosophical ideals and delude themselves into believing they are doing their own god('s) bidding. I think he was very clever in creating the religions of Westeros and Essos, showing a keen knowledge of how belief systems involving deities form over time.
