Scenario for Book Readers

Dany is actually a pretty good tactician as we see in Yunkai and Meereen but she has no battlefield experience which is okay because Barristan Selmy happens to be pretty good at that. He leads from the front which gives him an advantage to Stannis and Tywin who prefer to lead from the back. It allows Barristan's orders to be delivered faster and it raises his soldiers moral.

Meereen was Brown Ben Plumm, Yunkai was Yunkish idiocy.

People discount Robb, yet he is the only one in the series who consistently shows himself to be capable of defeating larger armies? Really?

I think most people have voiced respect for Robb's capabilities as a commander. Personally I rank him higher than Dany or Tywin, given how things turned out.

Tarly beat Robert's entire Stormlands army leading only the van of Mace Tyrell's. Stannis beat 100,000 wildlings using a fraction of their number. Both know how to fight as a numerically inferior force, and both would know how to counter such moves. Barristan never underestimates oponents and seems to isnpire as much loyallty in his men as Robb, so while the Young Wolf would give them all a tough fight, he would be beaten by all three.
