A Davos clue in White Harbor

On a reread of the series, I noticed something in ADWD that made me laugh to myself. I don't think it has any deeper implication than the immediate Davos storyline but it's a clever little bit of foreshadowing that I never noticed until now.

In Davos II, as he's entering White Harbor, we're given a description of the people who have taken up residence in the Fishfoot Yard and their activities. In particular:

"A man was selling apples from a barrow, and a woman was offering herring with chopped onions."

I wonder if it was red herring?

In ADWD, Davos observes a woman in White Harbor selling herrings with chopped onions... this may be foreshadowing his fake beheading!

I already noticed it, but I guess that someone else had... even before myself! :blushing:
