Season 5 Griffs? Thoughts?

The Basilisk

Personally I like my Griffins as I like my Patrick Swayze, dancing, ideally in a dirty fashion. To all you other fans of the Griffs, does anyone have any hopeful news concerning their potential existence or lack of in season 5?

Observing the list of characters being cast from the wiki, (oh yeah, this can be relied on); I'm noticing some listed of ambiguous identity, such as "a Son", and "a man with shrewd financial cunning and a long, thin face".

I'm curious if anyone else might agree that this "son" could be young Griff, although without an elder Griff I suppose he'd just be... guy. I read somewhere someone suspecting Varys could potentially end up filling in Griff's shoes and the possibility of "a son" listed who may be young Griff concerns me as it seems to imply that this is possible.

As to the man with a "shrewd financial cunning and a long, thin face", I could see this being Kasporio the Cun*. I mean who the hell else would it be, fucking Harys Swyft or Gyles Rosby? Let's be real here for a moment, the way D&D have been treating the real details of King's Landing's politics, the actual positions on the small council will likely remain inexplicably unassigned, (Oberyn actually mocks this in the show, season 4 episode 6, 24:59, go launch VLC media player and observe for yourself). So who the hell else would this guy be if not a master of coin, Illyrio could be considered financially shrewd but I can't see him described as having a thin face, and I'd like to believe he wont be recast, (he will).

So this seems to suggest to me given that that long, thin faced dude could be Kasporio that the Golden Company may will still be around, so I'm interpretting all of this as that we will see young Griff, but no elder Griff.

Personally I am highly distraught by this and I'm curious as to the thoughts of others on the matter so please, indulge me.

From the casting leaks we've seen, "son" is someone in Dany's plot, a "captured vigilante." It looks like this character is one of the Sons of the Harpy. The man with a shrewd face role is more interesting, and has been hotly debated. The general feeling is that he is the Braavosi Ayra is sent to assassinate.

No one matching either Griff or Young Griff's descriptions has been spotted filming yet, though we've had numerous set pictures and reports of Peter Dinklage's scenes. This is certainly incomplete information on our part, but it's looking like they're not in this season. I like the Griffs and am holding out hope for their S6 inclusion, but it's not looking particularly positive for them.
