Daemon I Blackfyre
Hi! A couple days ago I bought something called "Il cavaliere dei Sette Regni" which is italian for: "A knight of the Seven Kingdoms". Is basically a collection containing "The Hedge Knight", "The Sworn Sword" and "The Mistery Knight". I didn't know about Dunk and Egg Tales that much and I really enjoyed the first short story! So I'd like to know if there's a specific forum section for threads and disussions about Dunk and Egg Tales since I don't seem to able to find one. If there's no such thing I ask: why don't you guys make one? Not only for Dunk and Egg but also for all the others upcoming novellas and the other ones that are already out. I don't think many other international readers will be able to read about "The Princess and the Queen" or "The Rogue Prince" anytime soon, it would be useful and also practical for anyone who wants to talk only about these short stories. Makrell
I agree, there should definately be a section, but it isnt atm. Maybe they will add a dunk and egg section soon, and maybe a lore section too.
Consigliere
A dedicated sub forum for the novellas is unnecessary. The novellas are frequently discussed in General (AsoIaF) sub forum.

Dont you find the general forum to large? You have to check it multiple times a day if you want to pay attention to new stuff.

I just don't think that the novellas warrant a dedicated sub forum. For instance a dedicated thread was created for TPatQ and that was sufficient. Same goes for The Rogue Prince. The Dunk and Egg threads I have seen did not even reach 400 posts.

The Dunk and Egg threads I have seen did not even reach 400 posts. few threads reach 400 posts. and there are forums with way less traffic than the dunk and egg would have. there are forums with 10 posts the last half year nearly. Dunk and egg would be more popular for discussion with a forum.

Perhaps when Martin releases more books in the series a dedicated sub forum would be worth having. Right now a D&E forum will go the way of those forums you mentioned because there just isn't enough material to discuss.

Perhaps when Martin releases more books in the series a dedicated sub forum would be worth having. Right now a D&E forum will go the way of those forums you mentioned because there just isn't enough material to discuss. This, But also, mostly, discussions on the D&E stories contain rather a lot of info from the other books in the series, as people draw parallels, and such. TPATQ had it's own few (pinned) threads, first one to discuss what would be in there (due to leaked snippets, IIRC), then one was opened because the book had been released a couple of days earlier than expected in a few countries, so people could discuss what they had read without spoiling stuff for those many people who were still waiting... That one ran for more than double the length of normal threads.. TRP currently entered its third thread, IIRC. And the speed of those threads had slowed a lot, so a special subforum won't be needed. Currently, the books have their own subforums, which is especially useful for the "still reading" parts. Those books are large, and can take some people weeks or months to finish. The D&E's are rather small, and can be read in a day or two. Should there come more, than perhaps, yeah, you can expect a subforum to be made. Should there be a new one, then perhaps there will be a pinned thread, as was done for TPATQ (TRP-threads were, unfortunately, never pinned, IIRC). Daemon I Blackfyre
Then how about creating a "pinned discussion" or whatever is called a thread put in evidence just for Dunk and Egg?Maybe in the General (ASOIAF) section? It would still get the job done without creating a sub forum, and when and if the discussion reaches its post limit, a "version 2" of that thread could replace the first one. Such a thing will most likely be done at the release of a new D&E ;) no worries
