How will Tyrion and Daenerys intersect before they meet?

As GRRM said, Daenerys and Tyrion are going to be apart for much of the book but they will intersect.I think news of a white dragon and its rider (if Tyrion rides Viserion) can reach Daenerys or Daenerys sends a message to Meereen that she is alive and she is soon coming back or both of them. Can you think of any other way?

The intersect is not what bothers me but the parting. Why would they meet and seperate again? We know he is going back, and so will she. Are they on a different tempo, is he doing something for her as an envoy, perhaps preparing something? Or are they splitting up? I'll take the north you take Kings Landing? Or are they just not that into oneanother? Like, oh I've heard about you, nice to meet you byebye?

The use of the verb "intersect" is so imprecise that it is impossible to say what GRRM means. Which is exactly why he used it, probably.

My suspicion is that he used to to hide the fact that they don't actually meet at this point. Something more likely is that they simply cross paths or intersect from a story standpoint.

I think the expectation of fans hitherto this remark is that Tyrion would advise Dany and they would be some sort of dynamic duo. Two main characters finally working together! Sounds cool. But...

But now I firmly suspect otherwise.

Obviously the thing about the dragon I made up. It's from the hip. One way they could intersect but not "meet".

A lot of people took George's statement to mean hat Dany just sort of sits around Meereen for half (or more of) the next book. I don't think so. I think they are misinterpreting the statement because they assume Dany and Tyrion will work together. I no longer think that likely.

Tyrion steals one of her dragons. They don't meet, but their paths cross. They only meet later in Westeros.

Perhaps he meets with Marwyn. Marwyn tells him the story about the others and Tyrion leaves with a dragon to go and assist the wall. It makes sense, he has been there before and likes Jon.

I believe that Daenerys will be a very big absence in Mereen for the time coming, and Tyrion will be there living with Daenerys absence, finding his way to the button room of Mereen between the locals and Barristan Selmy.
Daenerys will not recieve him as a slave finding his way in her kingdom: "Hello, I'm the children of an usurper's dog, may I stay? I promise not to be dirty and not to make too much noise!" She will meet him later as an individual that had a role (willingly, unwillingly, to further his own interests, whatever) in the mantainance of the building she started to build in Mereen.
That's my interpretation of the intersection.
His actions will begin to have an effect on her, her actions will have an impact on him, as they already had. She saved his life in the arena, without an interest and without knowing who he was. If he was an Imp in any self respecting 1001 nights story, he would later learn that and work to repay her of her kindness.
Or ironically that could be her undoing.
I cannot wait to read it.

MTE I think so too. Barriston will recognize Tyrion and will enlist his help for the war. I also think that Dany will be with the Dothraki for a while if not coming back with them. She will probably come to Mereen at the end of the book.

I believe she will leave for Westeros post-haste and was already deciding to do so at the end of ADWD.

My guess is that Tyrion and Victarion help Barristan and the Unsullied win the Battle of Meereen (Tyrion, obviously, by winning over Brown Ben Plumm and his soldiers), and Dany doesn't join the fight until it's mostly over.

Then, we see Ms. Targ, who has matured greatly during her time in the Dothraki sea thinking "Whoa, I surely f-ed up the whole bay area by my attempts to rule; who'd thought that sacking three cities and staying in the one that has assassins as well as powerful noble houses, none of which think very highly of me, was a bad idea?", and realising: "I come from a dysfunctional family, that little fella comes from a dysfunctional family, why not team up? What's that, you built a saddle for a dragon? That's impressive!”

What follows is the founding of House LannTarg and major ass-kicking ensues.
