How Strong are the faith militiant?

Its something that could easily be the majority of the South of Westeros by the beginning or end of WOW. But as it is, not big enough to be a threat to a kingdom.

I think it will play a major role in opposing Daenerys return to Westeros, either under Tommen, Aegon or Euron (Really believe he will be King on the Iron Throne when she returns)

I don't think it matters what their numbers are, it's their status that is key. If you kill the sparrows etc or move on them, you are basically declaring war on an entire faith, you open yourself up to be mobbed and easily justified for ambitious lords to denounce you and have a "righteous" reason the public can get behind to destroy you. All in all they probably have a couple hundred actual fighters. We notice through the POV's that many are smallfolk and women looking for something better. I doubt they could effectively win a war, but ransack King's Landing? Sow seeds of doubt? Easily. They're a big mob with a lot of hate and intolerance

I'm inclined to think the faith will side with Aegon, and Oldtown will burn because of it. The high septon when Aegon landed decided that the faith and Oldtown had to side with him or else they would burn. They will side with Aegon again but this Aegon is a fake and it is Dany who is the conqueror reborn, so Oldtown and the Faith will burn.

Unknown and it doesn't matter. They are not an army but a mob. But they wield the influence of PR.

well im petty sure that they can defeat the riverlands right now, they got about 60 men

The Riverlords can have basically any number between 15,000 and 50,000 right now. Details are hazy, but these lower and upper borders fit.

weren't the riverlands burned and pillaged during the WotFK? i doubt that lord frey alone could field 15,000 and i really dont know where they would get these men from, since most of them died in the slaughter at the twins

The Faith Militant number in between 2,000 and 3,000 i believe, most of them untrained sparrows. They wouldn't stand a chance against any kingdom or even Lord of average strenght. Their power lies in other areas. For now...

Not every single square cm of the Riverlands were pillaged and burned. Large parts are untouched, and many parts did not fare as badly as others. It's not like every singel soldier in the region is dead and all it's smallfolk gone. The Frey's still have 2,000 in Winterfell and 200 in Riverrun, 250 Tully men were allowed to leave Riverrun unharmed, the Brackens had a force at Raventree until recently and the Blackwoods had a garrison, Vance of Atranta, vance of Wayfarer's Rest, Piper, Smallwood, Lychester, and more had token forces at Riverrun...

Also, the majority of the 3,500 men who were massacred at the Twins were northmen, not rivermen.

Sure, several thousand of their men have died, the best of them at that, but many still remain.

I think their power lies in the fact that no one wants to cross them otherwise they will be seen as enemies of the seven.

When they were talking about cutting Cersei free there was no doubt that they could do it. It was just that they didn't want to be seen as the type of people who would kill septons and such.
