No idea, but yes, he was rubbish.

On the other hand, his brother died recently. My brother is, thankfully, still alive, but if he died I doubt I could function for months.

But no, I have no solid idea what's wrong with him.

Fair point, I'd forgotten about that. Gotta have devastated him, yeah.

If it is that, though, harsh as it might sound he shouldn't be playing at all, he should be given compassionate leave until he's ready.

We gave him compassionate leave. He said he was ready to come back. Something clearly isn't right though. Whether its that, the other contract nonsense or if he's just getting old, its hard to justify his place when he's in this form

He said he was ready to come back.

I know, and fair enough give him a chance, but surely the club has the ability to say 'look, whatever you say there's clearly something wrong, go off and do what you need to to sort it out'. Obviously some people would rather be working (I know I'd rather be working than moping around when grieving) but if I made that many mistakes at work for any reason they wouldn't let me come in in that state.

Admittedly, my job is a lot more sensitive than Toure's and also I'm not a multi-million-pound investement, but still.

Of course, as you say, there's other things it could be. Either way if he doesn't improve in the coming months you'll certainly be looking for a new central mid in summer if not January...

I agree, but there has to be a point where you trust the player who says they're ready to come back. Can't treat these players like children.

We were looking at a new heart beat for the team in the summer anyway. Toure is 32.

Anyway, I'm logging off for the night because I'm right fucked off with City and I'm liable to bite at people saying stupid shit. Taking the adult route and going to bed!!

I thoroughly enjoyed City vs Roma until around about the time Totti went off and Roma seemed to close up and settle for the point. It was at a good pace and a high level of touch until around then but it all got a bit scrappy in the last 20 or so. And sure, I get why Alex and co will be frustrated at how they performed today, but on the plus side City held a very dangerous team who are on an absolute charge so far this season and finished the match looking the more likely to score.

I think that with the tight schedule and the weak bench, they both needed to conserve energy for sunday and were a bit fatigued. If Strootman and DDR were available, we could have rotated our midfield, but as it stands, Nainggolan has played pretty much every single minute so far and Keita/Pjanic hasn't rested since DDR went down.

I cannot blame Roma for settling for the point in the end. No matter how bad we were yesterday, a point away to the champion's of England in a crucial Champion's League game is a great result for Roma. Put it this way - I'm not particularly looking forward to the return match in Rome.

It's up to us to break teams down when they sit back. We shouldn't be expecting teams to constantly open up to us.

Nasrudin - Toure is a closed book to me. I don't think he'd react like Tevez, but certainly not like Milner, especially if it was for a few games in a row. Pellegrini has a big shout to make because Toure is not in a good way at the moment

You could if they'd act like children and, let's say, pout for not getting the birthday cake or some such. ;)

Mikael,

Why didn't Destro & Castan play? Also, is Ljajic a big favorite of Garcia?

Destro and Totti both play the same position in the formation, so usually only one of them plays, except against Serie A minnows at home. Castan is injured. Ljajic hasn't gotten plenty of chances, but hasn't delivered all that often and doesn't seem all that comfortable as a winger.
