The eyes of the Dragonskulls are following....

Salut to you all, it is my first time posting any Westeros related Stuff. I am from Germany, so my english might not be the best, but I think you will get what I mean.

As I started to hear Audiobooks as some kind of a Re-Read, I stumbled upon something, or maybe not.

In a Game of Thrones both Ned (as he rewinds him entering the Throneroom after the Sack of Kingslanding) and Tyrion (as he is reading a Book about Dragons and rewinding his visit in the Catacombs of the Red Keep, where the Dragon Skulls are stored) mentioning that it feels like the eyes of the Dragon-Skulls would follow them. It is the same phrase that GRRM used for Catelyn and the Weirwood tree, who she feels followed him with the eyes too.

EDIT: Arya has the same feeling as she was in the Catacombs of the Red Keep, as she heared the Conversation of Varys and Ilyrio.

As we know the Greenseers can look through the eyes of the Weirwood trees, might it be possible that the Dragon Skulls can be a set of eyes too? Maybe for the Visions in the Flames of the Rhollor Priests?

Does anybody now of more Mentions of these, or has some Ideas about that?

Hello and welcome!

I always thought it was odd they way they described the skulls as watching them too. I think it's Bloodraven they sense watching them where the skulls are, but I'm not sure if it's through the eyes of cats roaming the Red Keep or through the actual dragon skulls. Though he does have a thousand eyes...and one. :)

I think that this is a very interesting catch. I think bloodraven makes sense as he would be intimately familiar with those particular dragon skulls. I feel like Dragons might have been significant in Valyrian religion due to their magical qualities, just like Weirwoods/Oldgods.

This also seems to suggest the magical qualities of dragons might continue to last in the dragons remains after the dragon has died. Kinda makes me wonder if there might be more to a weapon, such as a dagger, that contains parts, like a hilt, make out of dragonbone that I might not have considered before.
