Any aspiring writers out there?

For the past year I've had a massive interest in writing, and have been writing in various forms - a fantasy novel, a pretty real and gritty short story collections, a wide range of poetry, and several scripts. I've enjoyed taking in and exploring all the differing methods of writing, and I've been wondering if there are many others on here who write - and if so, what kind of stuff are you writing? What format? What themes? And what sort of problems are you running into? I'd be interested to know!

I love most genres, but my passion is fantasy, and I am currently trying to write a book in the same vein of Mark Lawrence's The Broken Empire Series. It's really political with themes of war with only some strands of magic. I write in first-person with a character who is very witty, sarcastic and amoral, but has a very dark, questionable, dangerous and unreliable aspect inside him. He's a lover, a drinker, a fighter and a gambler, but also a Prince and the rightful heir

Shameless self-promotion here, but whenever someone talks about being an aspiring writer, I tend to point them in the direction of my articles. I ask authors general questions about their writing process, and there are some good tips for aspiring writers. Authors include debut authors such as Ben Ferguson and Carys Bray, "big names" like Mark Lawrence, GRRM, Charlaine Harris and, most recently, Mike Carey.

Anyway, linky: http://www.readwave.com/vikki.patis/
