Copying the game-specifics mechanics here for the curious.

GAME SPECIFIC MECHANICS

This game will have event-related mechanics. They are explained below.

EVENTS: The Judging Process and the Trick or Treating.

Judging for the Best Costume will be during Day One only. Trick or Treating will occur from Day Two afterwards. You will still be required to proceed voting to lynch like any regular mafia game while the events are on-going.

1) Selecting the Best Costume:

RELEVANT GAME INFORMATION

SELECTING THE BEST COSTUME.

1.1) Throughout Day One only, you will be able to choose somebody to win the 'Best Costume' Award by secret ballot. The winner of the 'Best Costume' Award will be protected from the first attempt to their life.

1.2) PM Steampunk Zar to vote for whom you'd like to receive the award. The recipient must be alive before the beginning of Night One. You are allowed to vote for yourself.

1.3) All votes must be in before the hammer vote of the lynch or decision to go to night. Only a player's most recent vote will be taken to account.

1.4) You may abstain from voting if you wish to.

1.5) The player who gets most votes by the End of the Day will win the 'Best Costume' Award. However, if there is an even split in votes between the top choices, the decision will be randomized.

1.6) The winner of the 'Best Costume' Award will be informed privately.

2) Trick or Treating!

RELEVANT GAME INFORMATION

TRICK OR TREAT!.

2.1) Before the start of the game, each player has been randomly provided with a piece of generic candy. Each candy is capable of providing the player targeted with an ability from those listed in the possible role list in post #7. No player knows what ability is provided by the candy they can give out.

2.2) Starting on Day Two, the players will be able to put Candy on their or other players bags by PMing Steampunk Zar. The recipient of the candy must be alive before beginning of the night phase.

2.3) You may abstain from giving out your Candy if you want to. If you do not send a PM saying anything about the candy in your possession, it will be assumed you're not giving it to anyone, including yourself.

2.4) Only the player who gets the plurality of the candy before the lynch or decision to go to night will be able to gain an ability. In case there is an even split in votes, the decision will be randomized.

2.5) The player with the 'Best Costume' award is not eligible to earn additional abilities provided by Trick or Treating. Players will not be informed if they have given candy to the 'Best Costume' winner. If the 'Best Costume' winner happens to have the most candy in their bag at the end of the day, the next player will be selected instead. Tie decisions will be randomized.

2.6) Once the winning player has been determined, they will be informed privately. A list of roles available to them will be provided in the message, based on the candy they've received. The list of all possible candy-related roles in game is presented below.

2.7) The winning player may select ONE (1) of the roles from the list they received in private. The player will proceed to eat all their other candy they've been given and the remaining roles will be discarded. These discarded roles will NOT be available for use in future Trick or Treating sessions. The role selected by the winning player will NOT be available for use in future Trick or Treating sessions either.

2.8) Any unconsumed Candy will return to their original owners, and players who abstained from giving out Candy may opt to give away their Candy on the following day.

3) Coroner Finder:

RELEVANT GAME INFORMATION

GHOST FACE MASK.

You know that the death of a player (either by lynching, modkill, or as a result of a day or night action), will result in revealing whether the player has a GHOST FACE mask or not in their possession. Killers disguised as party guests put on a Ghost Face costume at night to commit their crimes so that nobody can find out who they are.

POSSIBLE ROLES OBTAINED FROM TRICK OR TREATING [1/2]!

RELEVANT GAME INFORMATION

TRICK OR TREATING ROLES.

The following is a list of possible roles that may be obtained through trick or treating. All of the possible roles are in this list. However, not all of the roles here will be used. All roles will carry the limitations expressed in the list. Any discarded roles by the Trick or Treat candy winner will not be available to use.

Double-Voter
Besides your regular vote, you will be granted an extra Vote. Therefore, you are a Double Voter!. In order to differentiate your first vote from your second vote, the latter must not only be bolded, but be colored in purple. You may change either of your votes at any time (always using bolded purple for any switches on your additional vote), however, you may not place both votes on the same player or vote night with both votes. If by any chance you happen to use your double voting ability on two players who are at L-1, the first vote will be considered the hammer. Majority is not affected by your extra vote. (If by any chance a player who is not a double voter places two consecutive votes or tries to color their votes, it will be considered as a regular vote with a switch, and will get yelled at by the mods).

Finder (1-Shot)
At night, the finders can send in the name of one player they wish to be investigated. Assuming no interference by other roles, the mods will PM them as soon as day begins to tell them if that player has a Ghost Face mask on their possession or not. Evil-aligned killers always carry a Ghost Face Mask on their possession. A message of no result means that something may have interfered with the Finder's action.

Friend-Maker (1-Shot)
During the night, the friend-maker may choose to send the name of a player via PM to the mods. Assuming nothing intervenes, at the beginning of the next day phase, both the player and target will be provided with a private topic off-thread where you will be able to communicate at all times. You will not be informed if you and your chosen friend have the same alignment.

Gladiator
During any day phase, once in the game only, the Gladiator can choose someone by bolding in blue the words CHALLENGE <TARGET PLAYER>. The moderator will proceed to change the Gladiator's avatar with a Gladiator, and any votes then will be reset. Only two players will then become votable for the rest of this day phase, the Gladiator and his target. Due to the nature of this role, pretending to have it when you don't by trying to trigger the command is a mod-killable offense and will be executed in the most inconvenient way to the faction you belong to.

Guard (1-Shot)
At night, the guard can PM the name of one player to the mods. Assuming no interference by other roles, that player will be blocked from taking night actions. However, if they belong to a group that can perform collective night actions, and at least one other member of the group is still alive, the action will not be blocked. If there are multiple guard-type roles in play (Guard(s) and/or Healer-Guard(s)), they will perform their actions simultaneously.

Healer (1-Shot)
At night, the healer can PM the name of one player other than themselves to the mods. Assuming no interference by other roles, That player will be healed, and will not die if targeted at night.

Herald (1-Shot)
At night, the herald can PM the name of one player other than themselves to the mods, along with a non-formatted message of up to fifty words. Assuming no interference by other roles, the mod will forward the herald's message to his target at the beginning of the next day phase with a note saying this message comes from the Herald. The Herald will not be informed of their success.

Hedge Knight (1-Shot)
The Hedge Knight is necessarily aligned with the innocent faction and that can only be used by a member of the innocent faction. At night, the Hedge Knight can PM the name of one player other than themselves to the mods. Assuming no interference by other roles, at the beginning of the next day phase, the mod will send a message to the target player informing them you are the Hedge Knight, and thus a sworn member of the innocent faction for this game. The Hedge Knight will not be informed of their success.

King Kandy
If you choose to become King Kandy, at the beginning of the next day phase you will be announced as King Kandy. Your avatar will be changed to King Kandy. As King Kandy, you may decide who gets to eat the candy during the following night by PMing the mods the name of the player you wish, whether your target player has received or not the most candy. You may change your private vote as many times as you want until a lynch has been achieved or the day timer is exhausted, whichever happens first.

Martyr
At night, the martyr can PM the name of one player to the mods. Assuming no interference by other roles, that player will be healed, and will not die if targeted at night. However, if the player the martyr protects were to die as the result of an action, the martyr will die in their place.

All roles will carry the limitations expressed in the list. Any discarded roles by the Trick or Treat candy winner will not be available to use.

Night Action Finder (a.k.a. NAF) (1-Shot)
At night, the night action finders can send in the name of one player they wish to be investigated. Assuming no interference by other roles, the mods will PM them as soon as day begins to tell them if that player "Performed a night action" or "Did not Perform a night action". A message of no result means that something may have interfered with the Night Action Finder's action.

Paranoid Gun Owner (1-shot)
At night, should the Paranoid Gun Owner be targeted by any player, they will shoot them as a reflex. Assuming no interference by other roles, that player will be reported dead at the start of the next day. Since the PGO only has one bullet, if multiple players visit the him or her during the same night, the shot will be randomized among the visitors. You will not be informed if your ability has been triggered or not.

Royal Herald (2-Shots)
At night, the royal herald can PM the mods a message of up to one hundred words. Assuming no interference by other roles, the message will be published in the game thread at the beginning of the next day phase.

Silencer (1-Shot)
At night, the silencer can PM the name of one player other than themselves to the mods. Assuming no interference by other roles, that player will only be able to post 2 words per post and vote for the rest of the game. In addition, their avatar will be changed to a Silent Sister.

Sheep-Maker (1-Shot)
At night, the sheep-maker can PM the name of one player other than themselves to the mods. Assuming no interference by other roles, that player will be turned into a sheep, and will be unable to vote for that day or post anything other than emoticons and quotes, or baaaa-ing. In addition, the target player's costume will be changed into a sheep for that day phase.

Sleepy Head (1-Shot)
Sleepy Head confirms in game that you went to bed that night without performing any other action other than sleeping. Your avatar will be changed to a sleepyhead for the rest of the game. For that night only, you will not take ANY actions. If you are a member of the killer faction, you will not be part of the collective kill that night.

Soldier
In the scenario where only one member of each faction is left alive at the beginning of a day phase, if the soldier is last man standing of their faction, their team will win the game.

Tailor
At night, the tailor can PM the name of one player to the mods. Assuming no interference by other roles, the mods will change the target players avatar with whatever costume the tailor has chosen for them for the rest of the game.

Vanillizer (1-Shot)
During the night, the vanillizer may choose to target a player by PMing the name of a player to the mods. Assuming nothing intervenes, the target will lose any abilities they have (excluding the ability to commit the factional FM night kill). You will not be informed if your action is successful. Please note that this action resolves last. Should you target a player they will be vanillized at the end of night. So any actions they carry out that night will not be interfered with.

Vigilante (1-Shot)
The vigilante has the ability to kill one player at night over the course of the game. To do so they should PM the mods the name of that player. Assuming no other role intervenes, that player will be reported dead at the start of the next day. If the kill fails for any reason, the Vigilante will lose their shot.

WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THE SETUP

scary-house-woman-in-blac-007.jpg

As you meet the party ensemble outside of the address you've been summoned to for the party, you start to question the sanity of the party host, and your own. Somehow, your own costume makes you feel vulnerable, and ill-fitting in this group. Perhaps the party host could have been more theme specific? You kind of glance at others wearing what you would have preferred to wear.

Suddenly, the hinges creak and the door starts to open. You roll your eyes to the overly clichéd creepy entrance to a Halloween Party, and expect the party host to pop from behind the door or to hear his voice in the halls. Except you don't get any of that.

The eager "WELCOME!" Behind you, outside from the house startles you. I am obviously delighted.

"Welcome, foolish subjects to my experiment guests, to my party secret maniacal laboratory. Kindly, come inside and make room for all the guests. There's no turning back now!

You see me counting silently, and then stopping. And then a flicker in my eye just for a brink, and a minor twitch, and a bit of an inside laugh and a nod. You don't understand any of it, but that was just weird to you. I suddenly realize I may have exposed a minor character fault, and nervously try to fix it.

"Oh, I didn't mean to frighten you too much... just yet. The real thrills come later into the party. Just look alive and let the party continue. Its just... I don't think I remember inviting 13 guests... I'm pretty sure my list was smaller than that. Was it 9, 10, 11? I'm not sure anymore. Or maybe I am, and don't want to tell you *cackle*."

What does that even mean, he's letting you mingle with strangers he has no idea of? How can you get out of this place? As you hurry to ask, I anticipate your concern and tell you very dryly.

"Hmm? Consider dismaying my observation... OR maybe we can just remove one so-called guest" every day. But let's carry on with the party, shall we? We have a winner to pick and I have experiments to conduct on dead bodies."

*** OTHER THAN A CORONER FINDER REVEAL, THERE ARE NO CLUES IN THIS SCENE ***

So the Private Eye has to be a criminal because he is very suspicious looking! Everyone thought. So they gave his body to the Doctor to try out his new investigation device, which would scan him entirely.

"I regret to inform you Private Eye did not have a Ghost Face Mask on him. But, I have some limbs I can use in my future experiments!"

The telephone at the house started to ring. Then Zar picked it up in the house speaker system.

"HELLO SYDNEY..." a dry covered up voice said.

"What? Sydney? Wrong number..."

But Zar seemed delighted, and decided to ask something.

"can you get a caller ID from the caller, computer?"

"Caller unidentified"

"Can you check a location?"

"Yes. Incoming call from the house."

Zar's grin widened up into a mad cackle

"MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA... HAVE A FUN NIGHT GUESTS!"

Before anyone could notice who had gone missing to make the call, Zar shut down the main power, and darkness covered the house.

** MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAA **

It is now night one. Please send your actions
