Rounds: 17
Length: 1 hr, 4 minutes and 8 seconds each
Style: I submit all the clues. Clues represent characters who embody a quality I possess. You guess the quality!
Points: No points, I win by default.

Let me know when I should start up the thread.

I know you're joking, but you might have a point here. What makes the game most frustrating for me is the constancy of it. Logististically it might be impossible, but once a week having a one hour speed round would probably be my ideal version of the game.

I'd be willing to do a speed round of maybe a day or something, considering timezones. I'd have to take some time to personally develop clues from the same acronyms and everybody would just be guessing... but if there was interest I'd do it. It could be in addition to the real acrophobia, as opposed to instead of.

I love acrophobia but if there's one thing wrong with it, it's the length.

If the host were to create the clues, why bother with the acronyms to create the clue from?

The Logistics are the main issue in my opinion. I couldn't commit to anything because my schedule changes a lot week to week. But usually:

I'm EST and am usually available in the day Saturdays and Sunday evening. I know we have some European players so it might be a little tough.

It could be a fun game, but the Biggest obstacle would be getting at least 10 players and a judge on line at the same time for about 2 hours.

The judge could pick the theme, the characters, and the letters ahead of time. Once the players had their characters and their letters they'd have 30 minutes to make a clue.

The judge would take as long as they needed to sort it out (having never been a judge I don't know how long this takes.)

Then the judge posts the clues. Since it's one round I think we don't need points for theme. So 3pts for a right answer and 1pt if anyone guesses your clue.

I think 45 minutes would be enough for fast guesses.

So 30 mins to make the clues, 45 mins to guess them. Pluss all the logistics and guessing that judges have to put up with.

If we had 10 dedicated players and 1 dedicated judge we could probably play a round in about 2.5 hours. The length of a soccer match or hockey game.

Yeah, getting everyone together at the same time is the big issue. I never know for sure how much computer time I'm getting unless the kids are at school. And there's the issue of different time zones.

Maybe a longer speed round where it's still finished in less than a day but we don't have to have everyone online at exactly the same time?

One of the keys to the game would be that we we're playing on a clock. So unless we play off the Trust Method, which isn't impossible, (do you own a stopwatch Lady B?) we would need all the players to be playing at the same time. But if we opened it up to lots of judges and and didn't keep track of records over time then anyone who wanted to play could when they had the chance.

Maybe it would be best to actually have at least one round first. Does anyone want to host? I can't, at least not for the next two weeks, my beloved Lions are on national TV this weekend and I'm not sure where I'll be working next weekend.

If we're using my idea of having the host develop the clues and the game is to guess them in rather short order... I think logistically it makes sense to do it over 24 hours. Within 24 hours people in any time zone should have enough time to submit answers (if they are interested enough). We could add a trust thing that asks people to spend no more than an hour on guessing or something... but the time period that the host would make available for guess submissions would be 24 hours. I'd even pre-post the exact time to expect clues so that people could plan ahead.

If we're doing it where people make clues and guess... that's an added layer of logistics. Not sure how best to make it work. Your suggestion might be best but potentially you'll have trouble finding the right time of day to get people in various time zones... and maybe that's ok.

I don't have a stop-watch but since we're talking an hour or two I could set one of the timers available in my house or on the internet. And in a pinch I can always change the time on my alarm clock. :D

I'm ok with the honor system as the logistics of getting enough players online at the same time seems pretty complicated to me. I'd suggest synchronizing our watches, but I don't use a watch.
