Suzanna Stormborn
How did Balerion die? It says Aegon III saw the last of the dragons die during his reign, sheepstealer, cannibal and 2 others were still alive when he took the throne. How did they all 4 die? And when it says 'Targaryen dragons' does that include the wild dragons? Moondancer seems like a sick feisty little beast, love her :) That illustration of Rhaenyra getting fed to Sunfyre is freaking crazy, and it was in front of a bunch of people and guards, that would be intense!!!! Love the picture of her as a young woman, so beautiful. Dont think there are too many other 'death by dragon lunch' killings in the novels, wonder if Dany will bring that practice back? Anything else about the dragons, discuss....

Jaak
Do we get the riders of the historic Targaryen dragons?Like, who rode Balerion, Meraxes and Vhagar before Aegon, Rhaenys and Visenya? Did anyone ride Balerion between Maegor and Viserys, or Vhagar between Visenya and Laena, or Dreamfyre between Rhaena and Helaena?
Lord Varys
That is not discussed at all. We only know that Archmaester Vaegon is called 'the Dragonless'.
Rhaechyll Targaryen
I thought the fate of Grey Ghost was sad. It sounds like he tried all of his life to keep away from humans and he ended up being killed anyway. :-(
Til
Am I correct in that only a single dragon both survived the Dance and remained under Targaryen control?
RumHam
Am I correct in that only a single dragon both survived the Dance and remained under Targaryen control? Only one (Morning) was still under Targaryen control, but Silverwing, the Cannibal, and Sheapstealer were still alive.

RumHam
Aye, Morning Light, Rhaenas dragon. It's Morning. No light. Apparently the version that leaked a few days early online had the dragon's name as Morning Light.
Ramsay's Penguins
Oh ok thanks. I much prefer Morning Light tbh, but that's the way it is.
