Interesting Reddit thread

These are hilariously misinformed:

"So many delusional Dany fans in asoiaf.westeros.org"

"One hilarious difference is that in "Female readers, who is your favourite character?"-threads reddit has answers like "Brienne, she's such a strong and independent woman." and westeros.org goes more like "Jamie, he's so hot!"

"From what I've seen, it's not as funny or angry as this place can be. More civilized but more boring and stuff"

I have zero idea what kind of ASOIAF community reddit has. What kind of threads do they post? Do they have deep character rereads and analysis? Do the also discuss philosophical, military, religious, sociological, historical, judicial and other aspects of the books? How open they are to new ideas and crackpot theories? How many blind fanboys/hateboys and trolls do they have? Are they interested in serious discussion or just proclaiming how badass their favourite character is?

With that said, this still stands :

I just know I like us fine most of the time. :grouphug:

It is, I do agree with some of posts that weren't just banging on one or the other.

Westeros.org forum set up is much more user friendly and easier to navigate. I go to reddit to do more of a "high-level" review or if I'm just scanning different posts or theories. If I want an in depth analysis, whether it is character, theory or over arching themes I often come to Westeros though.

However, much of my posting (obviously) is done on reddit. Much more of a community I feel & more accepting of different ideas and posts. If someone doesn't agree with an idea there the majority will explain why or simply that they don't agree. Here though it turns into a bash session and newer posters are often made to feel stupid and unwanted (obviously not by everyone). Then it turns into too many irrelevant back and forths on Westeros that often derail a perfectly good thread.

Both obviously have their benefits though and both are probably the leading cause of why I lose so much production at work.

Do they have gold hidden in the village?

:agree: As much as I love the threads here there are far too many instances of pages being taken up with pointless arguing over different opinions. You think Stannis has no redeeming qualities? That's fine. You think that that's a load of shit? That's fine too. Spending 4 pages on a completely unrelated thread arguing about this? Not so much.
