Tracking Lives and Stuff on Facebook and other social media

There's a big sex scandal going on in Canada, involving the public broadcaster, the CBC, and one of it's former stars, Jian Ghomeshi.

Jian, for 7 years until last week, had been the host of an entertainment/news/public affairs program called Q. He was essentially fired by the CBC (they used politer language) for private conduct they consider inappropriate for a representative of the Corporation. The issue is really fodder for a thread of it's own (accusations by women of violent non-consensual acts; and he's suing the CBC for $55 M Cdn. for his dismissal).

Anyway, someone on Facebook linked a website that can track, moment by moment, actions on Facebook, Twitter, Google, Linked-In and Instagram. I find this fascinating, and a bit creepy.

Here's the link to Quintly. It opens to the page tracking Ghomeshi. Once news of the firing came out, thousands of people (over 100,000) liked him on Facebook. As more and more women have spoken up about his conduct towards them, people are unliking his Facebook page and Quintly is tracking it.

Of course, you probably have no interest to follow this particular page, but maybe there's a person or a topic that's very active where you live that you could also track on this website. If there is, please feel free to post it!

The app is geared towards businesses and it's a for-fee service, but there's a 14-day free trial period (ie this thread will die in 2 weeks), and if you are a student, it says, there's a free social media app. It may be just Facebook pages.
