As for crowning Lyanna in Elia's presence - yeah, uncool. As for his terrible crime of leaving his wife and children in the safest place imaginable, though, sorry, I'm not with you. Harm came to them only because a full-blown war started and the capital, and the realm, were lost. Really can't insure against that. After reading AFfc and finding out just how sexually liberated the dornish are, I couldn't help but wonder if Elia was in on the whole thing and ok with it. Who knows, maybe she has her own lovers, too. Sexual fedelity isn't that important for everybody, and Rhaegar and Elia didn't seem to have any special affection between them (it was an arranged match after all).

Targ history has track record of Targs getting prophecy wrong, and half brother causing hell for their silbings and children.

There is also the matter he publicly shamed her and such, and Lyanna being the most influential lady of her day.

how awesome would it be, imagine:

Rhaegar + Elia, IS Aegon, HOWEVER, it's later revealed, that Elia due to her dornish horniness CHEATED on Rhaegar with someone ELSE, and Aegon is actually half Martell and half whomever.

It would be SO awesome, that it actually IS the kid from way back when, switched, and STILL is a fake.

That my friends, is how you write a proper (f)Aegon twist.

True. By this point Elia probably knew her husband well enough to know that there was no stopping him when it came to the prophecy stuff.

Yeah I'm not sure why he did that, it was pretty stupid. Even if Elia had agreed to the idea of Rhaegar boinking Lyanna I doubt she'd be expecting to have everyone in the realm notified publicly that he prefers someone else.

Maybe Rhaegar thought after learning a bit about Lyanna that she would need some dramatic thing like that to be convinced to run away with him.

the only reason why i DIDNT assume arthur, is 1) because arhur is SO full of his honour, and 2) it actually DOES give us a reasoning for Darkstar.
