I'm having a baby.

My c-section is scheduled in 11 days.

It's been a long and challenging pregnancy and I'll be really relieved to move on to the part with the tiny newborn human.

I'm in pain all the time and have severely limited mobility. I'm going nuts. What do I do with myself to pass the hours until I can get this little girl out of my person?

Congrats, PJ.

When I was coming to the end of my pregnancy, I watched telly shows back to back. Netflix or Amazon Prime is your friend!

Good luck and let us know how it goes with babygirl!

Congrats!

I had two children, and the last few weeks are always the hardest because of the pain and the sleepless nights. My hips and lower back were affected the most, so it made going up and down stairs really hard. My first child was also 10 days late, so that was even worse.

I guess, as far as keeping your mind off of it...I would try to get in as many naps as you can (if that's possible), because you'll want to be rested up. Both times, I felt the need to 'wrap up' things around the house- like paying bills, ordering anything I felt that I was missing, etc. Maybe if you have any books you want to read, grab those. Or work on some crafty projects (like preparing the stuff for baby's book). Or watch some movies that you've been putting off (because soon you won't be able to watch any adult at all, lol).

Good luck! Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Congratulations, PlainJeyne! The suggestion above to binge-watch shows you are interested in on Netflix, etc. to pass the time seems like sound advice. Also, I know I'm trying to find time recently to delve into "The World of Ice and Fire". Don't know if you'd be into that but I know it would also use up some time and take one's mind off of things.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!

I am currently reading WOIAF, and trying to get small tasks done that feel like they need to be done before the baby gets here, but it's a real challenge. I've been very physically limited since my 2nd trimester and was on bed rest for a lot of that. Technically I don't have to be on bed rest now, because going into labor would be fine at this point, but I still have issues with my blood pressure rising due to pain from "over exertion" which for me at this point means "doing normal people things". I'm so ready to be able to move normally again!

I have a few shows to catch up on that I don't normally have time for because I have my son with me most of the time. I will hopefully distract myself with those for a while.

We didn't do much of anything festive to get ready for this baby due to above mentioned health issues. No nursery or anything just set up a crib in our room and dusted off old baby supplies that we saved. She has clothes and diapers and breast milks, so I doubt she'll judge me too hard for not having a Pinterest inspired nursery.

I will post a link to some pics once we are home from the hospital. I'm sure I'll want to show her off.

Also worth noting: that video made me smile. Thanks!

It sounds like you can't go to a pool, but can you soak in the tub? A warm bath would relieve some of your advanced pregnancy discomfort and give you another something else to do while you wait in what seems like forever . :) (I'm a swimmer and was fortunate to be able to swim throughout my pregancies, which not only gave me the workout I wanted but also provided a great deal of relief in those last couple of months.)

Congrats!

"Considering that, all hatred driven hence,

The soul recovers radical innocence

And learns at last that it is self-delighting,

Self-appeasing, self-affrighting,

And that its own sweet will is Heaven’s will;

She can, though every face should scowl

And every windy quarter howl

Or every bellows burst, be happy still."

Countdown is now at 6 days.

Ordered a recliner that will be very useful for night feedings and it's being delivered on Thursday. Going in public while 9 months pregnant is ill advised. 400 people will ask you if you are about to go into labor or if you are driving straight to the hospital from there... [emoji19]
