Does anybody believes the theory that Mance Ryder is Rhygar. A lot of people seems to think that Rhygar and Arthur switch amour at Dorne during the rebellion, which had Dayne facing Robert and Rhygar facing Eddard.

Edit2 : It's Rhaegar Targaryen not Rhygar.

And it's Mance Rayder. Ryders were ancient kings somewhere in the north

Whilst it doesn't have a lot of hold, it's an interesting theory that Rhaegar could've had someone else impersonating him when facing Roberts hammer. However, I don't believe Rhaegar would let someone impersonate him.

But, an alternate theory is that Rhaegar could've died somehow at the Tower of Joy, and someone impersonated him at the battle the same way Loras impersonated Renly to keep up morale. Rhaegar was not really known for being a violent man.

However, I doubt Robert would've let someone set up Rhaegars funeral pyre without even checking who was inside the suit of armour. So most likely Rhaegar died at the Ruby Ford...
